Be aware that in hot-summer climates Salvia roemeriana goes cleistogamous during the summer so you only get a brief blooming display in spring and, occasionally, a few flowers in the fall. In milder areas, like coastal CA, it can actually bloom all summer long. The spring display on established plants is really pretty, though, and the color is lovely. It would be wonderful if there was a form that would bloom longer here.
