H. 'Judy Farquhar' has been here since it was first introduced in 2004. It was planted in a full sun area but over the years, a small Japanese maple has gradually created more shade, and the blooms decreased proportionately. In spring 2014, the clump was moved again to a full sun area, where it is much happier. I have always liked the substance, bloom size, and happy color. I don't recall problems with the blooms "hanging up" or not opening problems over the past 11 years!
It is a moderately slow increaser in this climate, but I will monitor it carefully this year to see if growth rates improve now that its back in full sun/ optimal conditions. It has been divided only once since 2004, and there are only about 12 fans.
