That is amazing. You were quick thinking.

A couple years ago I spotted a hummingbird tangled in a spider web, but not nearly as bad as yours. I was so panicky, I did not even use gloves and I called to DH, but figured he didn't hear me. I lightly cupped the struggling bird and just rubbed away the web. It seemed to relax, so I opened my hand to get a better look at the wings and it took off. DH came running with the camera. He was mad at me for letting it go and he couldn't get a close up shot.
