No, You can use your oven, You can just wipe it down. No special oven unless you just want one just for clay. I bake mine at 275 for each quarter inch of thickness. I have baked a lot of clay in my oven. It does have a slight smell, don't be surprized. You will love the pasta maker but only use it for clay. It conditions the clay , the clay needs to be conditioned before making into craft/ It mingles the plastics togeter in it so your pieces does what it is meant too. There are several good books out and you can go on Youtube and get free tutorials. I love free!!!!! I'll see if I can get you a link....
