Mostly, usually. But if you can go straight to curing the problem without risking damage to the plant, but a diagnosis would require learning photographic techniques and waiting around ... cure, baby, cure!

In this case, it's an option because alcohol wipes and soap spray won't harm a plant even if ALL the diagnoses are wrong.

The TV show "House" bothers me because he's always trying to diagnose by treating prematurely: "Let's give her THIS because she might have THAT. If she gets better, my diagnosis was right and I get to be even more arrogant. If it kills her, I don't much care, except for the fact that I was wrong."

Why do people LIKE that show?!?
