You only have one chance with cobalt and water - no making mistakes - can't erase -
but the cobalt (now very expensive - due to wars in that African(?) country) is an intense color.


A small amount ofcobalt oxide, in water, is quite pale, but produces a much deeper color when fired to 2800 f.. An unintended
drop is quite noticeable. A lovely zen practice , however. I'm learning.The thrown, trimmed, and bisque, and glazed piece
becomes a canvas for the drawing on glazed porcelain.
