Cleta - your message made me laugh out loud - echoes of students saying the dog ate their essay... Green Grin! I hope you will post pics of the irises that eventually emerge?

Neal and Jan - I've already posted quite a few photos of individual plants from our gardens, and two of wider views: one from the Oxfordshire garden beside what was once a donkey stable, of a flower bed that I rescued (it had been turned into a bonfire site when we bought the house); the other of a bit of the front garden in France, actually above the garage, which is dug out of the rocks. I can't work out how to link the photos into this message (still learning!) but they're the only multi-plant photos that I've posted. Here's the same bit of the French garden with the garage visible:

I can certainly post more photos, but it may have to wait until the weather improves as the garden in England looks a bit sad right now Sad The house you may find interesting - from the front it looks like the original 'Hansel and Gretel' house:

Although at the back the windows are much bigger and the rooms lighter.

But all this is digressing, from a thread that is about irises (which I think we all really love!)
