OK, another project is finished. Framed in the sun room - now known as my garden shed. Ran into a few snags along the way in this one, but was able to work around them. Next project, screening in this space! I can't remember when I took off the torn screens and the broken lattice. But I know it was not long after we moved here. I have a picture where this was in the background already removed. And that was in 2005. So....FINALLY!! We may actually paint all of this before we put up the screens.
Yvonne and I initiated our new potting bench this morning. Yvonne bought a plant at the meet and greet we attended in Leesburg, VA in August and it was high time to move it out of the nursery pot into a larger pot. Usually that is done on our breakfast nook table. Not this time! It was done on...get ready...on the potting bench! Yea!!
Went out yesterday in the AM to start working on my framing project and as soon as I stepped out the door I saw the web of a garden spider. She was pretty big, but she was over to the left of where I had to work so I let her be. Last year we had one right smack dab in the middle section and my wife almost walked into the web. I would have hated seeing her get eaten by a spider after getting caught in it's web! Then I had no idea what it was so I killed it! Then went to check what kind of spider it was. Found out it was a harmless garden spider. One of the good guys! So, I felt bad, but learned. Thus, my decision to leave this year's guest alone. This morning I went out and she and her web were gone!
After building my potting bench, and a garden bench, I've moved on to my next project: framing in the area of the back of my house that was originally a "sun room" and is now my gardening shed. The framing is going up so I can re-screen it. Years ago I took down all of the torn and old screens with the idea of re-screening it. Never have. This is the year!! It's amazing what the gardening bug did to me when he bit me this year!
