''Change the only constant''
I don't know who said it but I don't like it .When I find a good thing I stick with it and feel a loss when I have to move on.
Cubits has been my home page and
I have kept a garden photo calendar blog on cubits for 13 years now I will surely miss it .
No rain this month till yesterday , almost 2 inches of a slow soaking rain (very thankful)
It did however take down the largest sunflowers and cosmos , so I spent the nice cool evening cleaning up and now the house is full of flowers
The pasture project is filling out with flowers
tall goldenrod in full bloom, and my bees have discovered it
the late thoroghwort is in full bloom and ''everyone ''has discovered it
the snout has to be a favorite , who can't smile at a butterfly with a long snout
along with planting out and digging to move for the September shuffle I have started some early clean up on the cooler mornings
much still blooming
September is the big shuffle when I move or plant things in their permanent winter home.
I have a long list.
clearing some veggie beds
trying a cover-crop of buckwheat.
moved a tool rack into the garden area
found a great bargain on pots at Lowe's only a dollar
plenty of flowers for picking
had to cut back several of the cosmos, just getting to big for the space allotted.
the pot at the front door has some unusual flowers.
Bees in the pasture doing well , working hard to fill the top box.
Still hot and humid with not enough rain , but the garden goes on
Picking a lot of veggies
pulled all the onions , as always not near enough .
all the cucumbers except the ones in the greenhouse have succumb to bugs like the melons.
Large slicing tomatoes are just hitting full steam ,.....lost a lot of first ones to bugs
I am having a sharing issue this year
something wiped out All the swiss chard in one night , then came back for my last row of small beets
I am thinking rabbit , my old dog can't make it to the garden anymore, and the rabbits seem to know.
Herbs doing well , and the perennial gardens look good , producing tons of blooms for the bees and me.
tons of surprise lilies everyehere
I like the scent and have bunches in the house
skullcap, make a nice cut flower
the zinnia patch does not seem to have any two alike
