Tropical Milkweed (Asclepias curassavica) |
Have |
seeds purchased from Hood's 'Do it Best' Hardware's in Wyandotte, MI & plant from their annual "Pollinators' Day" event/fundraiser for Roosevelt High School [ Spring, 2020 & Late Spring 2019 ]; considering removing because if not cut‑back at end of Summer, it blooms too late, confusing Monarch butterflies into sticking‑around too long, leading to their demise |

Pawpaw (Asimina triloba) |
Want (Like to have) |
planted seeds harvested from fruit off trees in Tower Grove Park in St. Louis, MO right before we moved in late Summer, 2018, but did not grow; I suspect they were a bit too young when picked + did not cold‑stratify properly; since the trees are so messy, planning to wait a few yrs. to obtain saplings and try again when we've settled on a good spot in the yard for @ least 2 trees; hoping to attract Zebra Finch butterflies, as well as use the fruit for eating, baking, & milkshakes
Asparagus (Asparagus officinalis) |

found growing wild along fence on South side of yard [Late Fall, 2018]; dug‑up, potted, & brought inside; survived winter w/ new growth; replanted elsewhere in yard [Spring, 2019]; died.

Canada Thistle (Cirsium arvense) |
Have |
("Picker Plant") Thistles are beautiful, but this one is troublesome - grows on the East side of our Northeastern‑most Spruce tree; if it were anywhere besides the middle of the lawn, I'd like it more; gets mowed |
||
Clematis 'The President' |
Have |
plant from Hirt's Gardens [ Spring, 2022 ] |
||
Field Bindweed (Convolvulus arvensis) |
Have |
"Choke Weed"/Field Bindweed/Creeping Jenny/Wild Morning Glory - the bane of my existance!!!: grows on its own in the Southern of our 2 tree boxes; no matter how deep I dig every year or how many feet of roots I pull‑out, it only delays the inevitable – it still comes back and if not tended to every day, wraps itself around the annual flowers we plant, choking them to death; have never let it go to flower; pumpkin patch has proven an effective barrier to keep it away from nearby vegetable garden; have not yet tried pouring roundup into holes where I dig it up, which should hopefully be long before any bees are around 🤞
Crocus |
Have |
purple crocuses suddenly appeared on their own in yard next to the picnic table (we have only planted Yellow Mammoth ones along driveway): 1 in Spring, 2021 & 2 in Spring, 2022; variety needs identification |
