79 dtm "Oblate 12–16 oz fruits blush lightly yellow and develop an amber-pink tinge on the blossom end when ripe. Don't allow them to get too soft before picking. The green flesh of this beefsteak is faintly marbled with pink. Flavor sweet and tart, rich and spicy. The central large tomatoes are the best. Flavor deteriorates when cold weather sets in." 1st grown in 2015; excellent flavor, beautiful color, productive. |

2015: PSS 70 dtm "This is a variety that Kent Whealy brought back from Russia on one of his collecting trips. It first became available in 1995. It is regular leaf plant, matures very early, good sized (five to eight ounces) oblate shaped, yellow (not golden or orange) fruit with bright yellow interiors and a nice tart taste." Prefer Djena Lee's Golden Girl; will not grow again. |

2015: TF 54 dtm "these extremely compact, determinate plants tend to creep rather than grow tall and would be perfect in a hanging basket or patio container. " 2016: growing in HH; definitely was NOT "extremely compact" for me, growing to at least 6' tall inside the hoop house. Very productive and early (started to ripen in July), but the tomatoes tended to have hard yellow shoulders. Tomatoes were about the size of a golf ball. |

2015: TF 70 dtm " dwarf, compact, determinate plants that were listed in the McFayden Seed Catalog as a "self-pruning," and needing no staking. Plants produce huge amounts of 2-3", red, round tomatoes that have exceptional, rich, complex and slightly acidic flavors. This is a great canning and salad tomato. Produces well in cooler damp weather, greenhouse or containers." Grew in 2015 inside hoophouse; produced well but had hard spots near shoulders, not the best flavor. |

64 dtm 2015: PSS " large, sprawling, indeterminate, regular-leaf, vigorous tomato plants that yield abundant crops in huge clusters of 1", round, deep purple, mahogany-brown cherry tomatoes. Fruits are irresistibly delicious with sweet, rich, complex, full tomato flavors that burst in your mouth" Productive, but flavor is just okay to me; likely will not grow again. |

54 dtm 2015: my seeds 2017: TT 2023: my seeds " indeterminate, vigorous, potato-leaf plants that yield copious amounts of 2", 4 oz, fruits that are deep-red color, inside and out. Five to nine fruits per cluster with a rich heirloom tomato flavor. Plant produces well until frost. A good tomato variety for cooler growing regions since fruits ripen quickly." Potato-leaf type 2023: I continue to try to like this variety, but despite the fact that the tomatoes are delicious, and early, it just is not very productive for me. |

72 dtm 2015: Tomatofest (have not yet grown as of 2021) "vigorous, indeterminate, regular-leaf tomato plants that yield exceptionally large crops of mahogany (brick-red) brown colored, 1-inch, round, open-pollinated cherry tomatoes. The Brown Berry cherry tomato has excellent semi-sweet , rich flavors with just a slight bit of acid finish over it's fruity sweetness. Very Juicy!" |

From the 2024 Victory Seed Catalog: "75 days, indeterminate — The potato leaf plants are sturdy, early, and produce fruits that are smooth, tasty, weigh in the two to eight ounce range, and are red in color. Throughout the twentieth century, several old seed companies sold tomato varieties by this name. We believe that what we are offering is the original variety, also known as 'Wayahead' or 'Potato-leaved Earliana', that was introduced and by S. M. Isbell & Company of Jackson, Michigan. This is not the variety commonly available by Jung Seed or many other modern seed companies." Seeds obtained from Victory in 2024. |

55 dtm; 2-3" pink fruits 2022: TT The plants were very impressive in 2022; however, a little later to set fruit than I expected and seemed very prone to cracking. If I grow these again I will pick early and let them ripen indoors. |

80 dtm 2015: PSS 2016: saved seeds 2017: my saved seeds "The high amount of anthocyanin creates quite a vibrant indigo on 2" round fruits. The purple coloring occurs on the portion of the fruit that is exposed to light, while the shaded portion starts out green and turns deep red when mature. Inside, the flesh reveals the same red tone with a superbly balanced, multi-faceted tomato flavor. Allow fruits to mature completely for best flavor." |

Burpee 2021 2022: Growing from a volunteer seedling in the HH; it was surprisingly productive, even with the late start - and one of our favorites in terms of flavor. Best flavor when it is light pink, even when it has hints of green. 2023: Growing again from my own saved seeds, very productive and quite tall for a determinate variety. The tomatoes have excellent flavor! |

2016: Baker's Creek "70-80 days. Determinate. Fantastic yields of richly flavorful plum-shaped tomatoes on compact plants that require very little staking! Resistant to early blight, reliable for home or market gardens! The paste-type fruits weigh in at 2-3 ounces, dry-fleshed and very meaty with few seeds. Great for sauces, salsas and pastes." Growing in 2016 for first time, in hoophouse; started early, planted in late April. First ripe fruit picked on 8/18/16. |
