[ Angel Trumpet (Brugmansia 'Naughty Nick') | Posted on September 22, 2012 ]

Naughty Nick likes to get tall before it will bloom. Mine has got to be 12' or taller (in a pot) and is just now getting some buds.

[ Starfish Plant (Ceropegia gigantea) | Posted on August 20, 2012 ]

Like Mums and other Fall blooming plants, this plant responds to the shortening daylight hours of the season by producing its buds. They don't like to be moved when they begin to set them. Any change in the angle that the sun strikes the plant may cause it to abort its buds and flowers.

[ Hosta 'Cathedral Windows' | Posted on August 8, 2012 ]

This cultivar has larger flowers than most other Hostas. A very showy Hosta, in bloom or out.

[ Angel's Trumpet (Brugmansia 'Shredded White') | Posted on August 2, 2012 ]

In my climate Shredded White is the longest blooming brug I grow. It starts blooming in May and continues until the first frost. Blooms start out yellow, then turn white.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Blueberry Breakfast') | Posted on August 2, 2012 ]

Blooms for a long time in my garden. Opens well after a cool morning, making it a good cultivar for the PNW or other cooler regions.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Dixie Land Band') | Posted on August 2, 2012 ]

One of my favorite reds. Nice dark green foliage and blooms for a long time in my garden.

Update July 2013
Scaped in May this year, blooming on re-bloom scapes now and is continuing to send up even more scapes.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Two Part Harmony') | Posted on July 24, 2012 ]

Two Part Harmony seldom doubles for me. But I still love it as its cheerful blooms go on for a long time in my garden.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Quietly Awesome') | Posted on July 20, 2012 ]

One of the whitest daylilies I grow.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Lois Burns') | Posted on July 16, 2012 ]

Though registered as an early bloomer, Lois Burns is consistently a mid late bloomer in my garden.

[ Lily (Lilium 'Tiny Toes') | Posted on July 11, 2012 ]

I love the color on this lily. Blooms start out as a deep bright color, then fade as it ages. Makes an interesting mix of colors on the plant.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Breathless Beauty') | Posted on June 21, 2012 ]

Doesn't fade in the sun.

[ Ragged Robin (Silene flos-cuculi) | Posted on May 22, 2012 ]

Can self sow to the point of being weedy, but easy to pull out when young.

[ White-eyed Grass (Sisyrinchium albidum) | Posted on May 20, 2012 ]

Flowers only open when the sun shines.

[ Strawberry Begonia (Saxifraga stolonifera) | Posted on April 4, 2012 ]

Saxifraga stolonifera is hardy in my zone 8 garden. Mostly evergreen except in the coldest winters here.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Double Cutie') | Posted on February 9, 2012 ]

A small double that can bloom profusely when well tended.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Dorethe Louise') | Posted on February 9, 2012 ]

A full-formed yellow with greenish cast and green throat, floriferous and perfectly open in cool, rainy weather. Well branched. Fertile tetraploid and a good parent. The foliage is a deep shade of green, noticeably darker in hue than hundreds planted near it, the flowers are just above the foliage tips and create a compact and floriferous mound when in full bloom.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Divertissment') | Posted on February 9, 2012 ]

Divertissment is recommended for it's many excellent plant habits. Has well-branched scapes, high bud counts and is vigorous. Pod and pollen fertile.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Country Club') | Posted on February 9, 2012 ]

Purest pink of unusual beauty and clarity with a bright tangerine throat . Caused quite a fervor when it was introduced, but did not last long as 'Country Club' has thin, yellow-green foliage and was quickly surpassed by southern-bred pinks. It is still a magnificent pink, if you can just play down the foliage with carefully selected companion plants!

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Cat's Cradle') | Posted on February 9, 2012 ]

Bright yellow, very slender spider (5.8:1) with well-branched scapes; long season of bloom; an excellent parent for spiders. Resents transplanting very much. A bit tender in the sense that it increases well if protected from hard freezes and slows down very much if exposed to hard frosts.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Cartwheels') | Posted on February 9, 2012 ]

A wonderfully vigorous light gold, flat open flower form, somewhat like a cartwheel; very tough and hardy old-time favorite. Flowers heavily and reliably and is an excellent landscaping choice.
