[ Missouri Evening Primrose (Oenothera macrocarpa) | Posted on February 26, 2012 ]

This plant has absolutely huge flowers, often close to 4 inches in diameter, which is somewhat unusual for a native prairie plant. It will also bloom nearly continuously from spring to late summer.

[ Tall Bearded Iris (Iris 'American Classic') | Posted on February 25, 2012 ]

Nice, traditional looking, plicata. It's a bit of a slow grower.

[ Species X Iris (Iris 'Alpha Gnu') | Posted on February 25, 2012 ]

Alpha Gnu is one of the few broken colored iris I've had that shows vigorous growth. It is roughly equivalent to an Intermediate Bearded Iris in size of the plant, size of the flowers, and time of blooming.

[ Tall Bearded Iris (Iris 'Alaskan Seas') | Posted on February 25, 2012 ]

Big, beautiful flowers on a plant that has been a really vigorous grower in my garden.

[ Tall Bearded Iris (Iris 'Aegean Wind') | Posted on February 25, 2012 ]

Nice reverse amoena that has performed well for me. It's provides excellent increase and is a reliable bloomer.

[ Tall Bearded Iris (Iris 'Rapture in Blue') | Posted on November 21, 2011 ]

Rapture In Blue is a very interesting older cultivar. The flower opens an ordinary shade of light blue and then gradually fades, perhaps "transforms" would be a better description, to an ethereal shade of silver blue. Normally, flowers changing color wouldn't be considered a good thing, but in this case it really makes 'Rapture In Blue' a special iris.

[ Tall Bearded Iris (Iris 'Abiqua Falls') | Posted on February 12, 2011 ]

My favorite light blue iris.

[ Intermediate Bearded Iris (Iris 'Mariposa Wizard') | Posted on March 5, 2011 ]

By far the most reliable rebloomer I've grown here in zone 5.
