Best coloration achieved with a few hours of early morning or late evening sun.

Pollen parent - N. mcwilliamsii
'Zacate' has a slight upright 17" nearly spineless rosette of light green creamy striped leaves that will slightly blush pink in strong light. Will produce a red center at flowering.
Offsets are produced on 5"-6" stolons.

Good coloration achieved with good morning and late afternoon sun conditions. Midday and early afternoon Summer sun should be avoided as leaves will burn.

C. Skotak hybrid
Seed parent - carolinae Variegated x Hannibal Lecter
Pollen parent - Tiger Cub
Rosette 8" - 10" producing pups on 2"-3" stolons.
Leaf coloration - Broad white central vertical stripe barred with dark reddish purple horizontal banding on both sides.
Needs strong sun conditions to bring out the great horizontal banding coloration.

Neoregelia 'Hawaii' prefers partial - full sun conditions to bring on the best coloration to the leaves.

Considered cold-hardy and will survive light freezes without damage.
Funnel - form rosette up to 21"tall with 2.5" green leaves blotched in purple-black with purple-black leaf tips and bases with small spines along leaf margins. The long lasting inflorescence spike to 18" tall with short branching supports the flaming orange and yellow flowers.
Prefers part sun growing conditions to bring out the blotches on leaves.

Parent plants (carolinae x "King of Kings') x 'King of Kings'.
Open rosette to 18" diameter. Bronze green leaves marginated and striated in a creamy yellow with a flush of pink. As plant matures random dark red flecks and partial crossbanding with red tips becomes more apparent on leaves.
Best coloration is achieved in high light conditions.

Prefers high light conditions to bring in the random red flecks and a few red cross bars.

Open rosette up to 24" with lime green margins and central burgundy stripes/striations when grown in strong light.

Neoregelia 'Gespacho' was introduced by H. Bullis of Florida without breeder or cross information.
It is believed to be a cross of Neoregelia chlorostica x Neoregelia 'Fireball' by Florida hybridizer Dennis Bryant.
'Gespacho' prefers brite filtered sun reaching 12"-16" across with 2" wide leaves. Grown in the preferred lighting conditions 'Gespacho' will have nice red leaves with yellow green blotches, bands and speckled areas often forming concentric bands.

Neoregelia 'Sweet Vibrations' is a Chester Skotak hybrid from the cross of Neoregelia carolinae 'Red Variegated' x Neoregelia 'Gespacho'.

Neoregelia 'Honihoni' is a 1995 hybrid (N. 'Fireball' x N. 'Nana') created by L. Vinzant of Hawaii.
The honi is the traditional Polynesian kiss forehead to forehead nose to nose.

This hybrid by Margaret Paterson originated and was registered in Australia, using the British English spelling of Jewelry (American English). The plant is often incorrectly sold in the USA under the non registered 'Jewelry Shop' name.
