Wish I could send you some rain, Charley. We've been in drought, but anything for a friend.

I forgot one.... Moroccan Sapphire, it was facing and up against the wall, and since it's a poly-ish bloom, I just had to pick it for a photo opp.

Beautiful start to the August thread! Noticed today Waterpocket Fold had it's FFO, it always signals the beginning of the end. Long day, new images still in camera. These are all still blooming although some only have a few buds left.

Double Minded, not a double. Registered prior to the recognition of Sculpted cristate for this single flower form of daylily, it does bloom without cristation occasionally.


Kentucky Shape Shifter, this one doesn't show cristation very often .


Little Big Ears, shows varying amounts of cristation with pleating. Trenton Many Faces, moved this spring showing no cristation on this FFO. Instead relief is shown which is normally hidden by cristation.

If you search these photos In most of them you will find nascent buds waiting for water, some are obscured but they all hold promise.

Looking good, Charley! It seems you've had a pretty decent season, although short! I have loved seeing your blooms and 'obligatory weeds', and enjoying your humor!

I've had a great deal of wonky blooms, this year. More than ever, really. They are curiously pretty cool, and I've posted a few on the thread, The thread "Poly blooms and oddities" in Daylilies forum along with my polys.

A great deal of gorgeous polys have been posted by the Gang, too! It's been a fun thread!

It's been like "If it's Tuesday this must be Belgium."

Just posting ONE. It's a new favorite of mine. This is its first year to bloom and I can't believe how tall it got. I got it in 2019 from twixanddud (Laura). It didn't bloom last year but REALLY made up for that this year. I haven't measured it but it has to be almost at its registered height. I'll have to check on that tomorrow. I have one scape staked but it really didn't need it. I put that on it one windy day just in case.

Scandinavia:

FFO on The Jury's Out between rains. 11am and with the cool weather I don't think it's fully open yet. 5 way branching on this scape.

Enjoying all the images this evening. I've heard Scandinavia is a good one, looks very white and the form is so elegant.
Ran around today picking things up after pollinating...we're suppose to get rain. We haven't had real rain since May? Or maybe that was snow. Have to remember to bring my garden shoes in tonight!

Five Hanson's to start off...

Another image of Alone Again, Curt describes it as soft violet purple...soft? This is bold in your face violet purple! And Sea World similar coloring just not as bold.

Boundless Beauty and Sleeping Giant, never gets to it's registered height of 28 inches. More like 16" tall with an 8" bloom....a bit strange looking!


Screen Pattern, awesome pattern every time.


Jukebox Saturday Night has an interesting color with a satin sheen and Cool Change wishing we'd get one. The heat and humidity have been awful!!!
