Ipomoea platensis is finally making a vine but since this plant makes a caudex I'm sure it's making most of its growth in the roots. Caudiciform Morning Glory (Ipomoea platensis)

Ipomoea nil
Snow Queen white demono. I'm just tickled by the leaves. The blooms can either be shredded or normal so I'm wondering what I will get! But I wasn't expecting this one to show the mutant traits since the cotyledons looked normal.

This is a tree type MG I'm growing for fun. Looks like I'm about to get cotyledons! Nothing in the database yet so I'll update hopefully when this one grows!

Joseph, I found this thread interesting and I know you have triggered blooming by changing the day length-

I envy people who actually have room to grow vines. I LOVE morning glories; is there such thing as a dwarf one?

Yes Anne, the Kikyos are on the short side and you can also grow the Nils and keep them short by growing in pots and snipping them. Kind of like bonsai plants. I have a photo of how to cut them in my photo folder I'll post it when I find it.

Ugg I can't find the photo I had with the directions for keeping the plants on the small side. Joseph @Gerris2 do you have one or the link to it?

Is the Sun Smile series still available? Those cultivars were "dwarf" with nicely variegated foliage.

Not dwarf, but satisfying my own curiosity...

Has anyone grown this Ipomoea 'Golden Chain' ?

The hypocotyl tissue is bright red which indicates the flowers will be in the red part of the light spectrum.
