It's my pleasure!
I am seriously impressed with the Ipomoea section of this forum.
It is I who should be thanking all of you!

Thank you all for the love of Morning Glories!
I have chosen to retire from this forum due to issues I have with regards to how it is moderated and personal drama I have recently become aware of.

We're glad you are here Entwined.

We're all bonkers for this plant family.

This mutant Ipomoea nil is going to bloom soon. Maybe Monday I hope.

frankrichards16 said: just received seeds from Diane's Flower Seeds. They are packed in small labelled plastic bags. Nice...

"Ipomoea coccinea 'Orange Noah'
Ipomoea hederacea
Ipomoea hederifolia var. lutea
Ipomoea nil 'Early Call Mix'
Ipomoea purpurea 'Blue Star'
Ipomoea purpurea 'Stellar Pink'
Ipomoea transvaalensis"

You will have fun with these selections. Be careful with hederacea and hederifolia, they will reseed in amazing numbers and they could get out of control.

Interesting name for the purpurea cultivar.

Looking forward to seeing your plants growing this coming year!

Pure white Japanese morning glory flowers are blooming indoors this week. I named the cultivar 'Lona Mae', in honor of my mother who passed away 10 years ago. After her funeral, I returned to my office at work where I discovered the plant was actively blooming on my windowsill. So I named it for mom.

Thanks for those seeds Ronnie.

Thanks Thea!

I forgot one - this mutant looks like it will make a peony type flower (called botan flower by the Japanese).

So this is crazy! My Stictocardia started making true leaves-

Thumb of 2023-01-20/Bandita74/a24006
But that's not what's crazy. It's got the same thing that happened to a few of my other plants but en force!
Thumb of 2023-01-20/Bandita74/9a6264
It's not a pest as it's actually a part of the plant but it does eventually cause that leaf to drop. I lost one of the cotyledons and I'll lose this one soon.

I had to clip off the cotyledons of the others it happened to eventually. I'm absolutely convinced it's happening because I mist the plants with the bright grow lights on. I'm going to have to try to remember to do it after I shut them off for the day.

My ipomoea platensis is making a vine!
Thumb of 2023-01-20/Bandita74/ae7cfe
And this was so nice! I bought some lilac ipomoea carnea ssp fistulosa seeds off Etsy. She sent me a few white ones as a free gift and I inquired if she had any more to purchase. A few days later I received an envelope with a bunch of them!
Thumb of 2023-01-20/Bandita74/d97d4d
So if anyone wants to grow ipomoea carnea ssp fistulosa alba, I've got you covered! Smiling

Operculina pteripes had a growth spurt. I've clipped the vine once on top so it would make side vines but now I will have to figure out some other way.
