It has recently come to my attention that Chamblee's Rose Nursery is now defrauding customers under the management that has operated since Mark Chamblee sold the company a few years back. I, myself, am a recent victim of Chamblee's fraud, having paid $163 for 5 roses that were never shipped, nor refunded, in spite of multiple outreach attempts. Today 6/26/23, I filed a claim with the BBB against Chamblee's. The consumer review website Yelp.com has started to fill up with reviews from customers who have been scammed, one for over a thousand dollars. People don't suspect from looking at the Chamblee's website that anything is amiss. They just place their orders and pay, not suspecting that they will never receive the plants (nor a refund, barring a HUGE intervention). It's a sad situation that I am sorry to have to report. I used to LOVE Chamblee's, they were my go-to online rose nursery for years. It's sad that the reputation that the Chamblee family built up over so many years has now been trashed. And PLEASE, do NOT order from this company, or you risk being defrauded like I was.

The Yelp reviews are shocking. Thanks for the warning.

Just wanted to mention that this is the third company to own Chamblee, having been bought just this year I think, or at least very recently. The greenhouse and entire operation has also been moved to the sister companys site One Love based in Dallas. To my knowledge the folks that bought it directly from Mark Chamblee and moved it to Winona never defrauded anyone.

Thank you vaporvac, that is good to know. Thank you, zuzu, for checking out the Yelp reviews.

I was just going to post what Vaporvac said. The people who bought it from Mark Chamblee in ~2019 (and moved it to Winona) apparently did fine. But recently, it was bought by two guys who are the owners of One Love Farms in Dallas and it was moved there. Apparently that's when the trouble started, and it sounds like big trouble.

Thank you Susan. Yes, BIG trouble! I noticed when I looked up the two addresses Chamblee's lists on their website that one of them comes up on Google Maps as One Love Farms. I called the number and it went into voicemail, just like the Chamblees number does (no actual person ever answers the phone at these places)...

Thank you Patricia, I am happy to finally be on the Forum.
Mike, I saw that Permanently Closed designation on Google, but if you go to the Chamblees website, they are doing business, and nothing looks amiss.

The following announcement was posted on Chamblee's Facebook page on June 17. I'm not attesting to his honesty or accuracy, just passing it along:

"Hello everyone! We just wanted to share a quick update and let everyone know we are still working through orders. We are a few weeks behind schedule due to some unfortunate circumstances, but we will get caught up here soon. Your support has made this a very busy season for us, and we are extremely grateful for each and every one of you.

Again, if you are still waiting on an order, or a response to communications please message us on here so we can get you taken care of asap. We are working overtime to get everyone's questions answered as quickly as possible."

Mike, I saw that too. The fact is, they are NOT working overtime to get people's questions answered as quickly as possible, they are simply taking people's money and not shipping roses, nor responding to multiple inquiries and threats. I have been working on them for 3 weeks now, with zero results. Have you read the Yelp reviews?

mike, the owner is not the one you posted above in Winona, but a new one out of Dallas as mentioned above. This is the third owner.

One Love Farms posted this announcement on their Facebook page on March 15. Again, I cannot speak to the honesty or accuracy of the post; I'm simply passing it along:

"There is some misinformation going around, and what is being said about us and our business is simply not true, please be assured that we are taking these accusations seriously. We wanted to take this time to address some things and give our customers a quick update about shipping dates, and farm updates!

First and foremost, we have never refused to fulfill any orders, we simply don't feel comfortable shipping plants when it is not the appropriate time for shipping for most of the northern part of the country. We are still experiencing cold nights that are coming close to freezing, and we will not send out plants, only for them to be damaged due to weather. We always have and will ship at zone appropriate times.

Secondly, as stated in previous newsletters and on our website, orders will start shipping in April. We will be doing a quality check at that time, and going from there start shipping at the appropriate time for your zones. We did have lots of orders get delayed last fall due to our extreme drought here in Texas. We have a greenhouse full of plants that are protected and waiting for the proper time.

Third, we want to apologize for any lack of communication on our behalf. We have had a really rough year already, from being sick twice, a tornado that went through our farm, and being in car accident. As much as we tried, we definitely missed some communications and do apologize for that. We recognize our shortcomings and we have hired an assistant to help out with the communication aspect.

As for opening for in person shopping, we do not have a definitive date just yet. We are still in the process of cleaning up from the tornado, and we have to ensure it is safe and clean before allowing guests to come and shop. We will be announcing our opening dates and hours here in the coming weeks on our Facebook page, One Love Farms. We expect opening to be at the beginning of April at some point.

Thank you for being our customers, we appreciate each and every one of you. Please bear with us as we work to catch up on communications, and we will be in contact with you come April about your orders!

Please enjoy these photos of your roses safely growing at our farm, please don't mind the mess and the weeds, we're working on getting it cleaned up!❤️"

Another huge red flag is that most (or all) of the recent posts on both the Chamblees and One Love FB pages have a note saying "x has limited who can comment on this post". That speaks volumes.

Mike, that One Love Farms has a long rambling disclaimer on their FB page does not negate the fact that the Chamblee's site is operating under false pretenses: pretending that the roses are available, there is a shipping schedule, that the customers will get their roses, that customer service is available, etc. The fact is, NONE of that occurs when you order with them, your money just disappears into a black hole, never to be recouped, save through a gargantuan, hassle-riddled effort. Even though I got the BBB involved by opening a claim against the company this week, I have no idea whether my $163 will ever be refunded. But I will keep trying!

I just filed a fraud complaint with my credit card company about them. It's a shame because in the past they were pretty good.
