Mike, One Love Farms may now be associated with Chamblee's ie same ownership, but the fact remains that Chamblee's is operating the online rose nursery fraudulently, (and has been for some time now, apparently). I think bringing One Love Nursery into the mix muddies the issue, that Chamblee's, with its longtime reputation under original and second owners was a reputable nursery, but now it is NOT.

Thank you for the suggestion, Elena and Cupcakes, I called my bank today and they have filed a dispute against the charges. I also filed complaints with the BBB, The Federal Trade Commission Office of Consumer affairs, and the Texas Attorney General's office. I encourage any others who read this post and have been defrauded by Chamblee's to do the same...

I was not aware of the change in ownership. Chamblee's was the best rose source that I found. I am so sorry to hear this. VERY DISAPPOINTING to learn. Sighing!

This is what happens when a business is sold. Often a business not associated with the original business, like a furniture, cereal or pharmeceutical company. They bought it because it had good reputation, was thriving, the bottom line was profitable or they are looking for a tax write off. Maybe One Love is not parent company? Like when General Mills bought Blue Buffalo pet foods! They changed the ingredients, who is going to complain? They paid 8 millon for the name and will do as they please with the product. Best to check out any company before buying.

The owners of One Love Farms are a very young couple, I'd say in their mid-20's from the online magazine profile I read about them and the photos of them. If I understood the article correctly, they started One Love Farms as a multi-service landscaping and gardening company (while one of them was also a student). They wanted to grow their own roses in order to expand the company's offerings, and bought Chamblee's from the second owners this past January. It doesn't look like things have gone according to plan.

Mike, LOL, "Hasn't gone according to plan"... You can say that again!

There were three more distressed customers posting on Yelp this week (makes 12 total from recently scammed people) about their experience. Here is the latest review, from yesterday:

" 60+ days past the ship date waiting for my order.
Original ship date was to be April 24th
June 24th - I was finally got someone to answer the phone and was told that my order would ship tomorrow.
WHAT A LIE!!!!
30+ phone call attempts, 4 emails for them to answer 1 call and was told a lie.
Please do not buy from them...."

Does anyone know if the business was sold, or just the domain name?

Some years back, a small rose nursery somewhere in the southern US closed when the owners retired. Some scammers bought the domain name, filled the site with gorgeous photos of roses swiped from the Internet, and people tried to buy roses that never showed up. Maybe they're doing that again?

No, that's not what happened. One Love Farms has been in business for at least four years, the owners are active in the Dallas Rose Society, and they bought Chamblee's legitimately from the former owners, who announced the sale to them in January.

Mike, if it's true these people are active in the Dallas Rose Society, the society should be notified and these people expelled. It may sound like I'm kidding, but I'm not. What they are doing is punishable by law.

Gee, I wonder which nursery that was? I personally did not hear of it from back in the day. Anybody know??

It's mystifying why a legitimate business would squander the good name of Chamblee's, and the good will of customers by not being transparent about whatever difficulties are slowing down their ability to fill orders. Confused

I remember it being discussed on ye olde Antique Roses Forum (now Houzz) some years ago. It was a small mom and pop nursery in Alabama, Mississippi or Louisiana, I think, and when the owners retired, and the domain name came up for auction, it (the domain name, not the nursery) was sold to some fraudsters (maybe in New Jersey, but don't hold me to that).

The nursery (and namesake web site) had a generic, forgettable name like Beautiful Old Roses or something like that.

Thanks Virginia. That trick of buying the domain name from a company with a past reputation and then operating fraudulently must have been used more than once in this day and age!

I am a victim of this company (Shamble Roses) negligent treatment. I ordered 4/25/23 and never received anything. They of course charged me up front but no results. I had a follow up to one of my emails on 6/15/23 apologizing for the delay, stating that the David Austin rose had come in and that they would mark mine as urgent. Ha ha, here it is nearly September and no further communication from them though I've written to them more than once. I feel duped and angry.

There is action you can take, but, I'm so sorry this happened to you. I've never heard of a rose company doing this to people and especially, for so long of a time. If they had problems earlier in the spring those should be resolved by now. I'd be furious if this had happened to me.

I don't care how young and well-intentioned this couple was, or that they got in over their head. At this late date, they are crooks who have stolen tons of money from tons of customers. They're still advertising roses on their website and FB page. The only (possibly) good news is that they haven't made a FB post since 7/30. Another big tip-off that they're crooks is that they don't allow comments on their FB page since they started defrauding their customers.

The website is currently operational; however, Google indicates that it is permanently closed. It's important for people to be aware of this discrepancy. Grumbling

I was just able to order 4 roses from them on their website, so they're still accepting orders and money. They even gave me a $10 discount! Despicable.

You ordered from them or did you start an order and not follow through?
I checked out their website, too, and found it still viable. Since claims have been made against them why hasn't this place been stopped by now?
