We are getting rain rain rain from Ophelia but so far the wind is not so bad. I suspect the wind will pick up later today. We are prone to power outages with all the large trees near lines, especially along the two creeks that converge at the end of my street, I am keeping fingers crossed

I hope you Ophelia doesn't cause any damage for you, Jill.

Another dry sunny day with a forecast high of 75F or 24C. If it were not so dry, I would think it a beautiful day. However, we really need rain!

Hoping your power stayed on Jill. We've been mostly cloudy all day. Started with fog that burned off around 10 then a brief bit of sunshine before the clouds came. Temps were cool and damp, 44 & 63. Made brownies this morning and baked bread this afternoon but it was still cold inside so we ran the furnace after dinner. Guess it was good to make sure it was running fine before we actually need it. We'll get the chimney cleaned and the wood stove will be set to go.

Brownies and homemade bread sound so good, Char.

Another daylong rainy day today but no power outages so that was great. No brownies here, alas, but we have leftover apple pie that DH baked (and vanilla ice cream, of course). I did bake up some of my comfort food — a very cheesy red lentils and rice with mushrooms, leeks, zucchini, bell peppers.

Pie and ice cream sounds good as well, Jill.

We are getting a rain filled weekend due to the leftovers from the Hurricane moving up the East Coast. Just a Tropical Depreession by now but full of rain.

Miserable rainy winy day yesterday for DGS's cross country invitational, but he and the team ran well. MY NEW PENN state umbrella got a real orkout, including blowing inside ut a couple times.

today is rinse and repeat weather. Yuck.

We are still in summer here. It was sunny with a high of 75F or 24C. Still no rain in the forecast. I started the outdoor pump and watered a few of the younger daylily beds using collected rain water.

Yum, apple pie sounds really good too. Still brownies left but the bread is almost gone. Way to good to let it sit for long. Tonight toasted with bacon cheddar cheese melted on top with left over pot roast & veggies. With the clouds and dampness it worked to have a "heavy" dinner. Temps were 52 & 64, cloudy all darn day. I'm hoping for some sun and temp in the 70's tomorrow. We'll be back to a lighter more summer like dinner tomorrow...burgers on the grill.
