It's way too quiet here. I miss all the chatting. I want to hear about all of your successes and failures this year and I want to see photos.

This was not the best of all possible years for me as far as photos are concerned. My house acquired a new roof and a new coat of paint, so most of the plants were bent backward and lying horizontally on the ground just when they should have been showing off instead.

I do have lots of closeups of clematis blooms, however, so I'll post some of them here just to get the conversation rolling.

This one's Dawn, one of my favorites because it has an iridescent pearl sheen -- almost mystical.

Josephine is one of my favorites. It blooms almost year-round here.



Josephine even looks good when the outer petals get ratty looking.

My very favorite clematis is Multi Blue.

This is Proteus.

Here's Rooguchi. I can't understand why it isn't called Roguchi or Ruguchi. It's a Japanese name and they don't have double "o's" in their names.

This was a lucky find at the grocery store close to Mother's Day. These gorgeous clems were on sale for $9.99.

This one was also labeled Parisienne, but it's clearly Fleuri.

This is by no means a closeup. It's just a shot to show you how difficult it is to contain c. Armandii. It was supposed to be growing on the arbor you can see behind that great big extra clump in front.

Your clems are lookin' good... Do you grow most in pots? Mine do not hold their foliage green all year this year has been way too hot and dry here soI have no pictures. Thanks for yours!!

Well you know I am brand new to growing clems but I'll throw a few pictures into the mix here from my gardens, most of which are still in pots as I am moving so I didn't want to plant them and leave them behind.
This is Bijou, I have it planted in a hanging pot, still small but I have great hopes for it for next spring.

This is Sieboldii, hard not to take lots of pictures of this fancy one at it's various stages!
