This has been sitting in the yard for several years. Here it is behind this Christmas buggy. Only pic I can find.
Well, the next thing I knew I had it into my Craft Cave. I thought if a man can have a ManCave, Why couldn't I have a CraftCave. I drilled holes in table so I could mount the ball to glue on my gems. I used a tube of Liquid nails on this and it did great.
I used the flat backed gems to glue on the bowling ball. Be sure to clean it off so glue will stick. Also put enough glue onto gems to hold them, in one spot I failed to do that and four gems fell off. No problem I replaced them wit a broken mirror. Love Mirror just have to be careful not to cut yourself.
This is the grout, says to make it the consistency of Pancake batter. slowly add water and stir. colored grout with Sand is what I'm using.
I had a bucket of clean water and an old Tee-shirt to wipe it down after about ten min. sitting time. I think a small sponge would do an even better job, I scrounged around and found one it did great.
Be sure and get all the grout worked into and around the gems. Use gloves because the stuff in the grout will dry your hands out. But I like the feel of it on my hands.
I have it wiped down and covered with a plastic grocery sack. I used wet rags to condition my cement so may grout needs moisture too.
Hope this is clear, if not Just ask. Enjoy!!!!!! don't forget to sign and date it, so you will know what year you made it.....

To make the Name, write name and date on a piece of paper, I used E-6000 dabbed on flat gem, spread it all over put paper on it and put glue on back of this so it will seal in name and date.to make it waterproof.
OK, now that Charleen has finished her BB, and it looks great, I'm going to get started on mine. Hey, DH used my E6000 and said it was all dried up. (It was full of glue when I gave it to him) Have another tube around here but have been looking for it. Found a lot more glass globs and other pieces for doing mosaic. Very clever on how you did your signature glob, going to try that too. I know I bought grout, but where did I put that. Will have to go searching some more. Found more stuff for glass totems too. Guess we will have to go to wall-mart and I'm getting two tubes of E6000 (these are ALL mine).
I do know what I did with my turtle mold for cement and I'm not moving it until I'm ready to start.
Becky, that E6000 can glue anything. It is some great stuff!!!
I had intentions to make headway on the ball design today, but change of plans. My great Nephew (7 yro) is here for a visit.....I did get the focal point made and decided on colors! Now I need to decide what ball to put them on. I have a red, purple and charcoal. Can you tell me if that much of a base color comes through when you grout the glass stones?

My bowling ball is red, it came thru my gems but I like it. You'd have to have some rather dark ones for it not to come thru. If you use light color, from my experience, it will show.
