I have several iris that bloomed for the first time this year that I had never grown before. I was thinking today what my favorite new iris is.

When I first saw 'That's All Folks', I fell in love with it and couldn't stop taking pictures of it, so that has to be my favorite.

But then, there's 'A Grape Fit' , a bonus iris sent by Schreiners. I fell in love with it the minute it started blooming.

Oh, but wait a minute! I forgot about 'Mango Entree'! My mouth watered every time I looked at it:

But I can't leave out 'Jump for Joy'! I hadn't seen it in years, and then suddenly this year, there it was! Maybe this is my favorite "new" iris this year:

Oh, well, Guess I can't pick just one. Anyone else out there have some new favorites you grew for the first time?

I had a lot of first time bloomers this year that were beautiful but if I had to pick one it would have to be:
Pretty Ballerina


I guess I couldn't pick just one because 1b was amazing. I didn't get a good pic of it but it was Louisa's Song. Simply amazing!

These four were all new to me this season and I could not choose but they were all drop-dead gorgeous as well as large flowers.

Well, I have a lot that haven't bloomed yet so it's a bit early for me to pick a favorite, then again I'd have a new one every day. I'll have to give this some thought and see what I come up with.

Oh my. I do have favorites that bloomed for the first time. Just need to get the pics ready to post. And then to narrow it down ..... I got over 200 last year so this is going to be hard! You just want first time blooms or all blooms?

'Sharp Edge' (thanks Tom)... a veritable bloom factory, & is fast growing..


'Poodle Parade' was another that outdid itself blooming... and those fat red beards!!


'Rare Coin'. Huge flowers and long bloom.


'Jungle Shadows'.. pictures don't do it justice.. There's nothing like it.


'Oil Painting'. Just lovely.


'French Lavender' was just beautiful!


'American Original'... wowser!


'Sights Unlimited'.. great colors, long bloom & horns!


There were most likely more that had finished blooming at the time my computer died... so these will have to be my favorite Mid to late bloomers..

Can't forget this beauty.

My favorite first bloom this year was Star Appeal, but it seems to be a slow and weak grower.

Simply Coral was gorgeous and is way up on the list.
