Name: Daisy I Reno, Nv (Zone 6b) Not all who wander are lost
It looks like a wild rose that is growing in the parks around here. Hmmm... maybe not wild (growing in a park) but the growth is very distintive - compact and busy.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and proclaiming...."WOW What a Ride!!" -Mark Frost

I believe there are now some Timmys in the USA. prof. From the leaves I would guess it is a Rugosa rose or cross thereof. They are used a lot in landscaping in my part of Canada at least.
I agree with Rosa rugosa hybrid, I have 'Hansa' which is highly scented and robust. The colour is like the one in the next link but yours looks darker.
