Well this is the photography forum..so let there be photography. There being no thread/post here at NGA to just share our images of things other than garden related, I thought that we could begin a thread to share images of our encounters in daily life whether it be landscapes, sunsets, wildlife, vacation, nature, or hobbies, etc.

I feel that with posting images we can learn about composition, lighting, metering a subject or scene, techniques, equipment, etc. and encourage others to move forward in their interest of photography as well.
This is not a critique thread, just a thread to share your photos, learn about photography and friendly conversation.

So..... Just take pictures and enjoy photography.

I'm so glad you started the thread. Really looking forward to seeing more of whatever we've all got to offer too and I'd say it's off to a fun start!

Cinda, your budding Picasso is great! brought a huge smile to my face too (and I am soooo not normally enamored of cute children pictures--like I suppose that normal people are--pets, bugs, critters in general, and plants, of course, nature/scenery always work for me)

I think we stand a good chance of not getting thrown into the sandbox if we do learn about photography along the way too, I'm encouraged and I'm dying to know how you got that gorgeous moon shot Goat--how did you light the trees? and what was your basic set up there to achieve that (wow! btw)?

I noticed the spot on the cat (lily) matches the brick she has her chin on .

I love that shot too! Great composition. If my guess is correct, GoatDriver must have bumped the ISO up to something like 800 and used a long exposure time, together with a tripod and a remote shutter release.

Thanks dirt, I think if we keep it G-rated we should be fine and have a great thread to share our pics with each other and learn about photography too.

Thanks for the kind words, as for the setup on the moonlit pic...well, I had to go back and look it up to be sure ...it was a 1.6 second exposure, at 18mm, ISO 800, Slik tripod, Ball head and the timer in the camera..the trees were lit by an outside light at a shower house at the campground where the photo was taken.

Wow! Now I know that I'm not the only person in the world to own Slik tripods. Mine's over two decades old…
