Hi. Needed to stop my eternal lurking to ask a question. Last Saturday, I got all excited about my first buy on the Lily Auction (Instant Buy). I contacted the seller to send me an invoice. When I didn't hear back for two days, I searched around and found the beloved PayPal button. I used that to pay the seller. But, I forgot about the shipping, and didn't know about the tax, so I used the button again to pay the shipping. Then, I was horrified to realize that the seller has PayPal fees, and now must pay them twice!

I still haven't heard a word. So, guys, do you think I will ever see my 10 Rose F Kennedy x Emerald Starburst seeds?

Welcome! josieskid!!!

Most of the sellers on LA are pretty understanding. I have never had trouble with any of them. I think you will be fine. Thumbs up

Welcome!

I wouldn't worry about it. I have had a few buyers forget shipping or mess up the decimal. It happens. I'd hope you'll hear from the seller soon but I too have been guilty of missing a message along the way. D'Oh!

The best thing to do is to go to your closed auction page (can be found on your "My Lily Page") and use the "contact seller" button. You should open a line of communication with your seller and see what THEY want to do about it.

Ok, I sent the seller another message earlier today, and still no reply. Does the LA just work like that? I get an email that I won the auction/instant buy, and they just send the seeds? It's giving me an odd feeling, like this person can't hear me.

Not everyone is on their computer daily. Or they may be having computer problems. Or daily life issues may have come up. Please have patience and give them time to respond. Also give the seeds sufficient time to arrive. Not everyone goes to the post office daily. Some only mail out once a week. If their feedback is good, you can be assured that you will receive your seeds.

Regarding PayPal fees, I was always under the impression that they were calculated strictly on a percentage basis. On the other hand, I've seen sellers request that as many transactions be incorporated into one payment as possible.

Does anyone have the answer to this?

judydu2, you are so right. It's not all about me. I got two emails last night from this seller, and an apology.

See, I lose my mind over anything that has to do with Rose F Kennedy. So I was drooling, dizzy, and shaking when I hit that instant buy button!

Then I drove to Menards and bought a $25.00 (on sale) resin shelving unit that is super strong and easy to put together. I have a bunch of shop lights in my basement where I used to grow tender veggies and tropicals. I have to get together a few other things - pots, soil, etc., and then, I'm gonna have babies to tend to all winter!!! Cause I went on Ebay and bought a few other crosses!

Oh, forgot to tell you - Rose F Kennedy is out there in the garden! I bought a plant last month when she went on sale!

For each and every payment to Paypal there is a non-refundable fee. Each payment [received] is considered one transaction. Then there is the additional percentage cost [per transaction] that is based on the total amount received.

That non-refundable transaction fee is $.30.

For US sales, it’s 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction.
For international sales, the fees and percentages differ, according to which country the sale was made. Pertinent information can be viewed in the Paypal agreement.

Wow, judydu2, I knew about the charge to use PayPal, but not that percentage. I just love PayPal so much that I'm thrilled whenever I can use it. Even on-line at Walmart! A couple times, I bought crafting supplies on Ebay and never received the item. I notified PayPal and they got my money back for me.

Speaking of Ebay, I had a bunch of seeds in the mailbox when I got home yesterday!

I got:

Sharyn Lianne x Jade Ovation
Pirates Island x Big 8
Sunset Strip x Sweet Cotton Candy

I looked up pics on the database here, and these parents are stunning! Even the bonus seeds have American Graffiti as the pollen parent!

I still don't know what's up with my Lily Auction transaction. I'm just gonna be patient like you guys said. They sent an invoice so I guess they didn't notice that I already paid. I gotta stay away from that LA! But, man, they have some good buys on there! If you can be patient for days on end, and if you are the winning bidder. I would soon have no hair left!

I have over 200 seedlings with RFK as parent. I introduced one this year and more to come as the seedlings increase.
