Was doing some propagating from stem cuttings on a couple of different succulents. Of course, you want to strip back some of the lower leaves on those cuttings. Those loose leaves were so healthy I decided to lay them in a pot, wait a while to water. Now all kinds of new plants. Gene

Looks great Gene. I just love the different ways plant reproduce.

Good work folks, my jade leaf finally decided to put out new growth, still very pale at the moment I just noticed it yesterday.

That jade with grow at a ridiculous pace if you give it lots of bright light now! I have 2 jade cuttings that rooted slowly, but once they put out a few little leaves it seems like they double in size every day! Smiling

Hope so alyssa, looking at genes pic I wish I had took a few more leaves. I agree waiting for it to root seemed to take forever.

Took these pics of Kalanchoe pinnata leaf. I removed it from the plant around 6 weeks ago & laid it near a south window.

This Pachyveria Blue Pearl leaf cutting was courtesy of our cat Tikoy, he scrubbed himself against it and off went a leaf.

Have set it aside since Feb along with other cuttings.

Finally new growth..yey!

What do I do after this (already a while since they started new growth and air root)? rid the old mother leaves? plant the whole thing in soil? or ???

Just lightly cover with soil the root part, and it should just continue on growing, if you intend to keep all of them there. Leave mommy leaf attached, it is still giving energy to the new growth, eventually it will dry out on its own.

Or you can put them in their own individual containers if you want. Not too deep, wide and shallow is better, and always containers with drainage holes.

Thanks, Tarev. I guess I can just keep them as in the current "big" pot for a little longer... maybe until the mother leaves dry/die out. Meanwhile I will not water them, but mist them only. Hope their roots get enough moisture this way.

I have many Jade from stem cutting. These are the first time I've had a single Jade leaf root. Two different finger Jades started new years.

That succulents can propagate from leaves pretty much all on their own is magic to me. I have a baby succulent nursery now, all because the first succulent I bought was not in very good shape, and shed half of its leaves the first time I tried to repot it. It is some type of echeveria or echeveria hybrid, I think, and was a dusty purple color, but the leaves were quite narrow. Its babies are still quite blue, but they're turning purple now. Of course, I'm interested in anyone's theories as to what it might have been.

One leaf has grown a bunch of rosettes, and the others are just single rosettes. Some pictures below. These babies range in age from one week to five months.
