Last week I noticed Nelly Mosier was blooming. Some other gardeners in my area also have some early ones blooming. Although it makes me happy to see a bloom, it doesn't seem natural so early in March.

And so 2017 is off to a great start with the first bloom shot!

I have tons of new growth on everything so hopefully I'm not far behind. We had so much rain the past two months, more coming this week. Our 6 yr. drought, in No. Calif. anyway, is officially over.

It is sure to be a fabulous show. A few years ago when we had alot of early rain, I was amazed at the amount of blooms.

I'm in the Dallas area and am looking for a hot pink/bright pink clematis. Any suggestions? Thank You!

Hot enough?

I'm not at all sure how well it does in Texas but it's worth investigating.

My other favorite is Princess Diana. It is bell shaped and if you cut it down after each bloom time, you will get atleast 3 cycles

Kakio is aka Pink Champagne. I have bought most of my clematis from Brushwood. The choice of local ones are limited and usually very expensive but do see some good ones every once in a while at Marshal Grain and Ace. What area do you live in?

So pretty Anna! I'm in the Dallas area. I've hit all my local haunts and nobody has a very good selection. I might have room for two, so I'm thinking one pink and one purple. My garden is all pink, yellow blue and purple.

Ermagerd! Found the Brushwood site and am now totally addicted!

My first blooms were all the way open today. So glad our late frost didn't kill them!

Jaxmumm...you are in trouble now. I wonder if you will have to find room for more than 2? Green Grin!
