Got you listed, Karen.
The reason for only 2 divisions from some of the plants is sometimes I plant 2 small divisions together for a larger display. Until they are dug, I will not know if they can be subdivided.

My goal is to spread them around to people who would enjoy them. The gift of my fernies to the local gardening club last year was to preserve them and also introduce them to many experienced gardeners who acted as though they had no knowledge of them. I saw some proud pictures of the doubles when I made my fern leaf presentation at their meeting. Otherwise, they would have been lost in a short time. The standard peonies would have been dumped if no one wanted them.

I must dig them anyway so it is not a problem to wash and divide them. I shall use USPS flat rate boxes for shipping and they are free if ordered online or picked up at the Post Office.

Alex. Is that because of the phyto stuff. I know that shipping 'from' Canada can be spendy, but it is also expensive to bring things in?

Mary Stella, plant import legislation/rules and regulations are quite rigorous here. Grumbling We definitely need a phytocertificate for importing bare-root peonies from the States. However, I paid only 20$ for a phytocertificate to import my TPs from the Cricket Hill Garden. However, some growers on the Internet request up to 100$ for phytocertificates.

Furthermore, I wasn't allowed to import peonies from China under any circumstances - not even with a phytocertificate, but the Chinese grower told me that they ship to the States.

Jerry, it is very noble of you to share the peonies I tip my hat to you. - I would love to ask for Early Scout, but I cannot import it. Sighing!

Gemini--Have you down for an Early Scout. It is a mature clump and should have multiple divisions.

I went to the official Canadian website for plant import/export. It was so long and complicated that I nearly went cross-eyed from reading it. Not an easy procedure for individuals and probably a major PITA for commercial nurseries.

Awesome! Thanks so much Jerry! I'm still not sure if my little Fairy Princess that partially rotted will make it, and I think Early Scout will be a great replacement.

Jerry, could I dare to ask you if there is any chance that there will be an extra division of Chestine Gowdy (even a small one) would you please add it to my request? My Tournagelle has been sitting in a pot after I cut a rotten part of the root for quite a while with no development. I am afraid it won't make it. Chestin Gowdy would be a great replacement. I understand if your plant is not big enough to fulfill my kind request. Thank You!

This is why it is difficult to predict how many divisions the juvenile peonies will produce. I would rather furnish nice-sized roots & eyes than trim them down to possibly a single root and eye.

Mary Stella, I believe Jasmine answered it - very unfortunate, but I am trying to keep to Canadian growers - some fees are rather steep and some of US growers are not shipping to Canada at all.
