Jerry, mine is also on a smaller side. That's why I think it is Dancing Butterflies. The plant probably came from China where it is known as Fen Yu Nu.

I noticed this peony in 2013 while I was looking for Snow Lotus Rockii. China Plants had wholesale prices (i.e., 1$) and I wanted to buy at least 10 Fen Yu Nus to make a peony walk. Eventually I found out that I could not import plants from China, so I had to give up. They translated Fen Yu Nus as "Pink Minion".

Anya, I don't really buy herbaceous peonies. All 12 herbaceous peonies that I have were rescued. They were either taken from neglected gardens, or they were "orphan" plants left to slowly die in a store, or they were thrown in a thrash bin, etc. I save this pink NOID from an abandon garden in my neighborhood. I was in late November, I think 2014. I also remember that it had started snowing a day after I brought it home. It was such a nice surprise to see it blooming.
I don't have lots of sun in the garden, and since I really like TPs, all sunny and semi-shade spots were saved for my TPs. The herbaceous peonies are just the fillers or "ground-covers". That's why I don't buy them. Instead, I give a second chance to the plants that would certainly die otherwise. However, all of them are doing just fine. They will never have that many blooms as those planted in the full sun, but the peonies are saved, and very much alive.
