I have promised some here to give some of my collection out. Was going to ship last spring but my plants were in bad shape and not much better now but I do have some to give out. Mostly stem cuttings. I have the three persons names and address and wonder if you still want them or any one else here after whats left over.

Hi Stush, I got my new plants today (or yesterday - didn't make it all the way to the mailbox). It was like Christmas!!! Beautiful!

The only place I can think to grow the Dragon Fruit is in my south facing bathroom window over the great big tub that I have never used. Actually, it gets used quite a bit recently... my 13 year old kitty cat is in stage 2 kidney failure (because of a run-in with an Easter Lily when she was two years old. A week on dialysis! ). Anyway, I have a litter box (sans litter) and her water bowl in the bottom of the bathtub (its a really BIG tub - with a HUGE south facing window). Hubby might have cat-fits but he will (eventually) put a hook in. (what a guy! )

Glad everyone so far likes their packages. My plants didn't do so great this year and I cut up several plants trying to get enough to send out to everyone. Did the best I could and if some thing is really special, I'll try to get you a piece.
Starting Huernias or Stapelids is a little tricky and luck involves a bit. Keep in shaded area and after cut area is fully dried, place on top of sandy moist (not wet) soil. Keep warm about 60 to 70's. Should start to root in about two weeks. Some people lay the cutting along it's side and it forms roots all along the side facing the soil. Myself, I like to just bury the cutting about 1/2 inch deep and spray mist once in a while. Some times it rots and some times all goes well. Good luck everyone.
If possible I always try to pull a piece off with a little root attached so to speed up the rooting.
Echevieria are hardy to zone 9 - 10. Sorry.

Stush thanks for the good advise on rooting/planting the Huernias/Stapelias I'm going to pot them up tomorrow.

I've got mine potted up and dry except for a bit of a misting. They are in the greenhouse in a shaded area. They all look great, and I'm so happy to have them. Thank you again, Stush!

Just an update: All my cuttings are rooted and one is growing a leaf! No photos until tomorrow - its dark and snowing and the GH door is too far to run.

Mine all have roots. Will pot them up separately when they show new growth. Sound good?

Got me. I put mine in their forever pots to begin with because I didn't want to take the chance of disturbing new little roots.

Just got another few blooms. One is a 4 year old seedling blooming for first time. Very light yellow with hints of purple. Other is purchased several years ago that almost died and now is just picking up and bloomed. Shame not outside to have the flies pollinate them. Seems mine are picking up being under lamps inside out of the way too wet weather we had last summer.

Okay, photo time. I buried all the cuttings on their sides just barely under the soil. They have all climbed out since then.
