I have a line up of classics to record for the winter days...been watching the Twilight Zone Marathon since last night. Good way to spend a very cold New Year's day!

Netflix Black Mirror. Reminds me of a modern day Twilight Zone.

Got a big TV and new surround sound for the bedroom. I may hibernate in there under my down comforter. At least until Sunday when it warms up again.

Just got Netflix and started watching The Crown. Have some other series I have heard about saved in my list so will switch from serious to comedy as The mood strikes me.

Yesterday was a day for the dogs in TV or at least it was on Animal Planet. I watched from 3 in the afternoon till 10 at night. First starting at 3 there was some very interesting show about how dogs think and how they were domesticated and how they learn and bond with us. 2 hours and part 2 at 5 for 2 hours also. At 7 there was the National dog show. Loved watching all the breeds.

Watched a western, Bone Tomahawk with Curt Russell.
Very good movie and with Christian under-tones.
A rather politically incorrect, and violent movie really.
In one way , I think it was the anti-thesis of an Amazon based movie, and while they did not do something that would have really disturbed those of conservative beliefs, when you think about it, it would have been far better than what would take place for not doing it.

I own this movie. I have a son that is mentally retarded and has autism. I can really relate to his character of having the responsibility of his brother and yet wanting to break free and live his own life. Sadly, it really is like that for many caregivers. I think Leonardo Dicaprio won an award for his acting as 'Arnie' if I remember right. I watch it every once in a while. The part where they are chasing Arnie around and cannot get him to take a bath Hilarious! JUST like my son, and the part where he gets into the birthday and makes a mess of it, That is my Aaron to a 'T'. Lovey dubby

Got halfway through Wonder Woman last night. Don't normally go for the super hero type Marvel movies, but it was at the library and I thought, well for free, I'll see what all the hype is about.

For a super hero movie, it's pretty good. Obviously wasn't so good last night that it kept me from my bedtime - or so compelling that I was unable to resist starting a new book tonight and chatting with you all instead lol. I'll finish it tomorrow....maybe...before I have to take it back.

Are there any of you who find you're just fine watching half a movie and not caring about watching the second half anymore? Just none of them are that surprising or mysterious - at least lately.

No there are still a lot of ways at my age I can waste time but that is not one of them.
That is one reason I often check out movies well before watching.
I have found that if the critics love, it often sucks and if they dislike it, it is worth watching.
BUT, there was a list of the 21 worst recent movies on MSN computer news and two of the worst, well, I agree with them totally.
Of those, Just Getting Started, never should have been.

Watching Outlander, from the beginning. Now watching season 2, episode 9.
Will get Netflix once we're home (at my daughter's, after my mom's funeral today) and will speak to our tv provider about dumping much of our "bundles" as we're not liking the cost of all the channels. Even buying a new streaming-capable tv will be cheaper than one month's cable bill.

Ronnie,
Gilbert Grape was a good movie. Benny and June is strange, but really good too.

Frilly,
You have a lot on your plate with your son. I had to smile over the bath. I think Leonardo Dicaprio did an excellent job.

Sue,
With Netflix, I have stopped a lot of movies 5 minutes in knowing I don't care.

RpR,
I read the descriptions of a movie with a grain of salt. An excellent movie will often not even have an interesting story line.

I'm watching The Frozen Dead. Strange, but good so far. It's a series.
