Good morning, everyone!

Just when you thought all of the fun of the swap was over and now it's just the grind of organizing seed packets into baggies, printing out name slips, and sending stuff in...

BAM! I just had to go and add something else to the mix: a fun, daily TRIVIA (/etc.) CHALLENGE to give you another chance to get seeds and extend the joy of the seed swap! ;)

I wasn't able to hybridize my daylilies much this year (in fact, I only managed about 5 or so pods of seeds at the tail-end of the season when I returned from my trip). BUT, I have seeds from last year that I wasn't able to plant out, so I'm sharing 2017's daylily seed abundance with all of you! I may also have a few other types of seeds--veggie or other flower seeds--as options, too! I already have the daylily seeds set aside for this challenge, but I'm thinking of digging a little deeper into my 2017/2018 seed packet stash to see what other goodies I might be able to squeeze out of those as rewards for the this activity!

Each day, until the seeds run out, I will be posting a trivia question or some other challenge/activity for you to partake in. It is open to anyone that is paying for return postage in the swap (i.e. you need to already have a box headed your direction from the DND swap so that I'm not paying tons of extra postage to send these out. Rolling my eyes. )

The first challenge will come this evening around dinnertime (EST), so keep an eye out!

Cool! I'm sure I will fail terribly at this, but should be fun

Nice job!

An extra note about Abe Lincoln declaring Thanksgiving a national holiday:

Abe Lincoln wasn't the first to declare it a national holiday, just to make it an annual, federally-recognized holiday. George Washington was the first to declare it a holiday (originally declaring it to be celebrated on November 26, I believe), but it didn't really stick. Apparently, Jefferson didn't celebrate it. Then, in the middle of the Civil War, in 1863, Abe Lincoln declared it a national holiday to be celebrated on the last Thursday in November.

Some of you more astute readers will recognize that isn't the official day of Thanksgiving anymore. We now celebrate it on the fourth Thursday of November, which isn't always the last Thursday. Big Grin

Jim, let me know which 3 seed packets you'd like and I'll update the above post to mark them as claimed. ;)

By the way, on my daylily seeds, most of them have about 5-15 seeds, give or take. I give you whatever quantity was saved from that particular pod. Thumbs up

Edited to change quantity to read "5-15" - thanks for the catch, Leslie!

My deepest apologies, everyone. Something came up this evening and I wasn't able to get in around 7 with the trivia. I really hope it didn't inconvenience anyone, I feel terrible about it, and right now it's too late and wouldn't be fair for me to post the challenge. I can't imagine many of you are awake right now unless you are on the west coast.

To make up for it, there will be TWO challenges tomorrow evening!.....or this evening, if you're in my time zone. Rolling my eyes.

See you tomorrow!

Challenge #2:

Create a paragraph (3-6 sentences) using as many daylily names as possible.

This will be judged by others.
