Well we, my cousin and my self, mostly me, removed a lot of ice from his mother's house.
Today, the ice we could not get without sitting on the roof in snow and ice and maybe damaging the roof, came down.
Ripped the entire gutter off of the side of house and part of the fascia she had put on new two years ago. Blinking

A huge chunk of ice just came off of Sharon's house approximately four feet by twelve inches by six inches.
missed most things on the ground but had I not had an ice chipper, a huge chisels with a five foot long large iron rod for a handle been leaning on the grill, the grill would probably be junk.
It it the rod first and pushed most of the grill back into the snow bank only directly hitting the two inch diameter wooden handle and breaking that in half while bending the metal braces.
I have heard the ice come off of the roof all day sounding like a tree fell on the house when they fall from one roof to another. Rolling on the floor laughing

My cousin and my friend used my snowblower and once again it did not work, (I have never had a problem with it) but they fixed the sheared shear bolt in the drive wheel and blew around my house, so all is well. I tip my hat to you.

RpR said: 17 degrees right now and the birds are flocking to the bird feeder. (As is a herd of lard-butt squirrels.)
Light fluffy snow yesteday, about two inches so it is really pretty outside even with cloud cover.

Five years ago plus two days; I wish we were have the the weather from then this year. Sighing!

35 degrees cloudy sloppy wet weather.
It would be tolerable in March but just plain stinks in January.
Going home in a day or two to take down the Christmas Tree.
It was nice that up to today when I looked out the window I saw a snow white landscape
I has been 38 years since we had a winter this warm; back in 1982 I was hitch- hiking home in Jan.-Feb. in a fall jacket but that winter we had dust storms from dried out fields.

Paul Pitcher Day on January 24!
This day is dedicated to celebrating the man who invented the iconic red plastic Solo cup, which has become a staple at parties and gatherings all over the world. The story goes that in the 1970s, Paul Pitcher was tasked with creating a new design for disposable cups, and his creation – the now-famous red Solo cup – quickly became a hit. So let's raise our cups (red or not) and give a cheers to Paul Pitcher

Well Winter has returned in the Great White North.
Drove sixty mile up to Brainerd yesterday in a snow storm, the kind where visibility is limited to a quarter mile or less at times.

Saw one car in the ditch after the wire/posts stopped it from going into the other lane on the way up and another upside down in the ditch on the way home at night.
From Rice, Mn, South on the way home the road was icy.
By the time we hit the suburbs of St. Cloud, the inner lane was mostly covered with iced snow.
I still scooted along at a goodly pace as traffic was low both ways most of the time.

We went to Sharon's Niece's place for a Valentines steak dinner.
Got off to a bit late start, as the cable telephone/internet went bad and hooking up the new modem became pain in the arse as the office still had the old one listed as being used so I could not log in.
At that the system is being changed so they changed out-door box guts because they were told to.
First guy arrived at One Thirty P.M. and , now three, guys were still dickering around when we left at Four TwentyFive P.M . in a snow storm.
All things considered it was still a enjoyable Valentines Day.

I went home and back Sat.-Sunday and stopped at the Red Rooster Grocery store in Dassels , Mn; one of the VERY rare old school, very small town super markets, at least by 1960 store size standards, that is still around.
Found a dozen very nice, in perfect bloom stage, Red Roses for 19 dollars.

Still looking very nice, even after when we went down-town Monday and came back to find one of the boys, probably named Sammy, insisted on try to drink water out of the vase and knocked them on the floor.
Fortunately they were on a coffee table and I had put them in one of Ma's old school heavy glass vases.
It has been a very good week , and now I will go outside and shovel snow for only the third time all winter.
Happy Flag Day of Canada Thumbs up I tip my hat to you.
