Glenn, and this is just my opinion, everyone who really wants to have a representative collection of plumeria varieties simply has to have the Celadine and the Scott Pratt. I could name more "classics", but those two would lead the pack. They are both considered the most famous of the plumeria. The Celadine is not only the Hawaiian official state flower but is also thought to have been the first variety introduced to to the Hawaiian Islands, back in the mid-1800's. No, plumeria are not native to Hawaii. The Scott Pratt was the very first plumeria registered with the Plumeria Society of America. There will never be another "first".

These should start opening later this afternoon. Large, 4-5" diameter flowers with a fragrance of peaches.

More than one reason: It carries the flowers within the leaves (that stand upright) so when there is a larger tree you don't see the blooms anymore (one of my pet peeves with plumeria). It attracts rust like no other. It has small flowers. It is one of the most cold sensitive. When you have as many as I do, you need to start getting selective.

Ok. I've been waiting for this answer. Different zone. For me, this plant wants to be a ground cover...will not grow strait, small flowers fade fast in intense sun. Haven't noticed the upright leaves, but that wouldn't be a problem for me.

I'm trying to take this all in, Hetty and Carol. I've had this variety for over 25 yr. and needless to say, she is still in my collection. This variety does indeed have small flowers. Has large flowers now become the norm? What's the saying, "Gorgeous flowers come in all sizes"? I have lots of varieties that seem to have rust. In fact, of my now 25 varieties, few seem to resist rust. Hetty, how many of your varieties have dark burgundy flowers, regardless of size? How many have leaves that have so much burgundy that you can name the plant simply by the color of their leaves? And lastly, how many plumeria do you grow that has the distinction of being the first variety that was registered by the PSA?

Six varieties of plumeria are now in bloom, Scott Pratt, Jack's Compact Yellow, Aztec Gold, Bridal Veil, Celadine, and DD's Fragrant Pink. This is the second Scott Pratt tree to bloom and this second one is loaded with flowers. For some reason, this second tree's flowers are about twice as large as the usual Scott Pratt flower, about 3" in diameter. That last photo was taken with a telephoto lense. That tree is 9' tall.

Where are you located, @kbrendel?

Just so folks know when you post, how about going to your "Profile" and putting your location? It's helpful to not only know your city/state but also your USDA zone.
