Actually, they both look sunburned to me, The brownish area on the inside of the outer leaves. But the centers look good like they're putting out more sun tolerant new leaves.

Kim, Just keep in mind that transplaning in the fall is not the best time for the plants. While semps are easy and tolerant of transplanting, late summer and fall is the time that they are slowest growing.

I'm one of those who like to know its name so for visible label I use prong fastener base and Sharpie Pro (found at Staples). A box of 100 prong fastener bases is $4 and Sharpie Pro (marks through wet and oily surfaces; fade and water resistant) is $6 for a package of four.
