I am not so sure. Mine have been like that.
Maiden Charlotte has larger flowers then chip with more spots but they are taller plants.

@dyzzypyxxy. It is partly a memory, issue, with your user name being on the previous page & my dad didn't even tell me he was dyslexic, until he was in his late 70's. I had wondered why for years, he used to make notes, about so many various things..
.I usually have to proofread, the "preview", a few times, before posting.
I hope it is a good year, for finding some nice orchids, locally. Otherwise, I may try to find a good source for buying an order of young Vandaceous hybrids all at once, before summer.

Just remember that they will have to come in when the temperature drops!
Maybe better gro will sell you a case of assorted bag baby plants and ship them to you?

@sugarcane Thanks Lindsey. It appears HD supposedly offers them too, but not like Lowe's does, anyway. I attempted to navigate the Better Gro website, with difficulty... I tried vendors through the AOS website, but that didn't yield much. Maybe it is still too early.
But I recall buying a variety of them, many years ago, during winter. Since my gardening encompasses so many types of plants, I will just be patient. By spring, possibly by bidding from one vendor, but what is offered now, are over twice the cost of what I paid, plus the postage. I will just have to check with Lowe's again, in the near future

Just got another Pachara Delight, this time the labels has FCC JOGA & I think by the looks of the strap leaves, it might be the Sakate ( or Sakata ?) that bears 4" flowers in deep blue ! Fairly decent sized plant, too.

Wow, you got lucky, a plant with an FCC on the label! Woohoo!
Thumbs up

I thought so too, Ursula. I sure hope it turns out to be what the label indicates. Funny thing is, I decided to buy a new 4 " slat hanging basket last month & now just have to transplant it & add moss . Perfect fit & I just can't wait for it to produce a spike & see if those flowers are the awesome, 4 " sized dark blue flowers.
I Just might go back today & look up the names of the other "Vandas", as I didn't recognize them, since I prefer the blue to violet colored ones & didn't have my phone with me, to see what the other named ones in different colors would eventually look like...
I guess since they were on a bottom shelf & nearly all were turned on their sides, apparently not many people even noticed them at all...

Sorry Ursula. No Sansai. I already exactly know what that looks like ( in person.) Just one more of blue, like what I got. Interested? Let me know soon, as supposed to go back & get a plug for the lawn mower. I think it's about $14.00 & possibly easily worth twice as much. The leaf looks like the label states, as FCC JOGA * & if I'm correct, it just may be better than Sansai or Mikasa.

The FCC was granted by the Japanese Orchid Growers Association, hence the JOGA. I am not sure exactly how that award relates to the AOS system, but it is at least worth noting.
But let me add this, as far as I am aware, our judges do NOT participate in judging teams at their shows. Nor do theirs at ours.

I have on occasion picked up Orchids with the JOGA tag, I found them to be comparable to our AOS judging.

The significance of the FCC/JOGA on the label , was enough to convince me to buy it. Especially if it turns out to be the Sakate clone, with 4" flower size & that particular color. I wouldn't mind a Pure Wax, or Robert's Delight, too !
I returned today & decided against Manuwadee ( sp.?) Fragrance & bought a yellow cultivar, named V. 'Prapathom Gold'. Not quite certain of how it will look, upon flowering, as the stapled bag had been opened...
But the deep blue violet Pachara Delight, regular Pachara Delight blue & Pink Pachara, plus a Golden yellow ought to be a nice start on my Vandaceous/ Vascocenda collection.
I agree Ursula, after having admired Princess Mikasa, & seeing it being every bit deserving of having been named after Japanese royal family member...From being Judged on either side of the Atlantic, awarded or not by either group..

I have been on Anna Maria Island until Saturday, came home, and the internet was out (we were struck by lightning while we were away, other house stuff was affected too) just got things back and where am I?? HERE!
I have bought (over the years) Equitant oncidiums, Regular oncidiums, COlmanara Wildcats, Phals, Angraecum, Dendrobium, Vanda and Epidendrums of various colors. Their selection seems less now

Glad you were able to get back online Gina.... No damage to electronics? Lucky you, if yours escaped harm. I've had surge protectors that turned out to be totally useless...
Well, I just figured it was worth it, for under $15. & didn't have to pay any postage, either.
If it turns out, it isn't the Sakate clone, it ought to be very nice looking anyway. But the leaves do resemble that particular one. It will be awhile, before I see the first spike, though.
My other 'Pachara' is getting elderly & eventually may have to "shorten" it. As it started losing a few lower leaves this year a few weeks ago...
Last spring, I had tried to hook it onto the eave & a gust of wind picked it up just as I let go , It came crashing down & lost half the root system, which was quite extensive, prior to that incident.

Our phone, internet and cable were out, apparently the booster in the closet got fried. One refrigerator was on a breaker that tripped and was a mess, and our well pump went offline for about 4. maybe 5 days so the greenhouse was NOT watered. It was dry as a bone, but has since recovered. Makes you never want to leave home.
