Unfortunately, no! I tried a few seed pods that time, Epipactis helleborine, Bletillas and a couple others I had. I also tried live Moss.
Perhaps Sphagnum is better.
These are blooming wild in Nottingham England now near my friends yard. (Pardon the glare, I took a picture of her photo.)
She calls them Bee Orchids. Googled it ....Ophrys apifera var. aurita.
Here is a great video about these enticing (to bees!) orchids: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...
There are two ways to live your life.
One is as though nothing is a miracle.
The other is as though everything is a miracle

It is again Helleborine time in NE Pennsylvania.
I posted some of this year's pictures here, http://garden.org/thread/view_...
This pink form of Epipactis helleborine is new to us at our locations and we will track it next year.
Epipactus helleborine, I found this plant on the edge of my property as I was mowing lawn. It is the first time I have ever seen one so had to look around a bit and found some others in another area. The others had less color than this one. Back lit as the sun is behind plant.
