And here is a real beauty - Ceratostylis philippinensis, the little blooms are tiny and numerous and very fragrant.

Tolumnias can be tricky to grow. They are intolerant of overwatering and will drop rotten leaves when grown too wet and too shady. And - any scale within 10 yards with find their way to these plants and and love to snuggle in those freshly grown fans.
This little plant is a tough survivor, I thought it was really done after I had to treat it again for scale. But it rebounded with a new growth and a little spike.
I bought it as Tolumnia Ducky Doo, but only Tolumnia Ducky is registered with the RHS.

Congrats. Many of mine are on the way out. I just figure they are an orchid I have to buy again and again. Hilarious!

Here is another Mediocalcar decoratum in bloom.
I am trying to establish it as companion plant to these 2 Paph seedlings. Hopefully it will grow around the edges on this tree fern ring.

Bulbophyllum alagense small form is a tiny creeper, it has been filling out nicely through the years. ( Got it in 2005 from Andy)
It is starting to produce some of the tiny blooms, they always remind me of little beaks.

Great growing, Ursula! I was wondering what those flowers would look like! So sweet! I'm afraid my chunk has gotten a bit smaller but it exists! I'll keep an eye out for flowers. Are they seasonal?

Yes, they are, at least for me. I see these little blooms only in December/January.

Here is another little weirdo - Scaphosepalum ovulare.

Can a little Bulbo be revived if the pbs are shriveled? It came to me this way.( I just know Kathy will say "Picture please" so I will do that when I have time) But just a general question......

It depends? I would think at least the next new growth should be fine/plump, provided the conditions are ok.

Thanks Kathy and Ursula!
Is shriveling always due to underwatering? I am sure there are other reasons??? What are the major reasons to try to correct?

If the plant doesn't get watered is one reason, having no roots is another. Sometimes, pbulbs /the plant simply gets old and dies as it would surely also do in nature.

That is very interesting about it getting old...I was not sure how long to expect a plant to live. I am sure it varies a great deal from Alliance to Alliance, and various varieties, etc,....but under optimum conditions, let's say, how long will a Catt live?
