Hi all,

This is totally last minute, but a neighbor is working on creating a butterfly garden at a local park, Gladstone Park to be precise. He's looking for donations of the following. If you see these and can help me out, I'd be grateful. If not, I understand this is last minute.

DayLillies,
Hostas,
Ferns,
Milkweed,
baebalms,
Brazilian Verbena's,
Liatris

See you all tomorrow!

Last-minute request...if anyone has wild black raspberry (not blackberries) I would love some. I use it to make my daughter's favorite jam but since moving several years ago I can't find any growing anywhere ☹️

I've noted the requests:
Happygardener: raspberry
Dian, creeping phlox cutting (they root easily in moist soil).

Dian sorry for your lose.

Hi RolRod,

Based on what people brought last year, there will be lots of hostas, so even if people haven't mentioned them in this thread, someone is sure to bring them.

Happy Gardener - Diane, so sorry for your loss. I know all too well how it feels. Hang in there. This poem got me through the service. I hope it helps you.

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

luvtogarden : With all the tulips used in landscaping, I wouldn't be surprised if you start seeing landscaping companies ripping them out of the ground and throwing them away soon. In the past, I've had luck contacting Chambers of Commerce asking when their planters get switched over. If there's a building complex or large business near you with lots of spring bulbs, you can try asking them too.

You're welcome. I'm glad I found this forum last year. I like giving away my plants to people who love plants and take care of them.

HappyGardener and Diane - I'm sorry for your loss. My mom died end of March this year from a chronic illness. It's been a long goodbye. I was sad but also reassured by the thought that she didn't have to feel pain anymore.

Thank you for the plant swap. It was a very soggy afternoon but all the plants in my soggy cardboard boxes got snapped up immediately. Thank you!!!

I got two plants and was able to google the name of one because it has distinct-looking flowers (lily of the valley). But I don't know the other one, all leaves.

Does anyone know what this plant is? It had no label. It was on the "exuberant plants" table.

Thank You! Ellen and Doug, Thank You!
Thank you so very much for organizing this swap. I heard that you have done this for 16 years! I cannot imagine your doing this year after year for this long.

Thank you, everyone for another fantastic swap despite the downpour. Amazing, amazing!
And thank you for all the doodies you brought me and for other gardeners. Thank You!
It was such as pleasure to see familiar faces and new faces. It was so good to see practically everything snapped up. There was very little amount of leftover. Amazing, amazing!

Happy gardening, folks, and enjoy another gardening season.
Me? I am going to spend next week at King Spa soaking in hot tubs and lying on hot sauna floors resting my very sore muscles.
Thank You!

Thank you to everyone for the lovely generosity of sharing your plants. I actually got a few in the ground later in the early eve when it was so nice out! Thank you to all who organized and did the heavy lifting of the event. I look around my garden and see how much has come from the swap and feel so grateful!

Hurray!

It will be a great pleasure to see you at the swap. Maybe you will get to see Ellen's beautiful garden. Smiling Or mine. In fact, you do not have to wait until next year to see mine. Stop by anytime you are in our neck of the woods.

I was just thinking of you this morning while walking around my garden and seeing the petasites you so generously gave me. It is doing very well. Maybe in 4-5 years it will have spread enough to share with other gardeners.

BTW, your echinacea went to DianeH. She was most appreciative.
Thank you, Mike, for your generosity.
