I received an unexpected box yesterday! Two years ago I ordered 'On Fire' from C&T Iris Patch. This year is bloomed as a different variety. I contacted C&T who identified the iris as 'Orange Tiger'. Yesterday I received 'On Fire' from them. They had not indicated they would send a replacement, but I was very happy they did! I've a similar experience with another well-known vendor, but no replacement.

Evelyn, Jan , Daphne & others.. originally, I had in mind, to do pastels, mainly to try & make it easier planning for use in a "mixed border"... But since then decided upon doing mainly tall bearded in a separate bed & then noticed, it may not ship, until at least Mid August ! Unless , I misunderstood (which is rather late,) to be looking around for any "sold out", rhizomes, that could possibly present a problem , after waiting so long.. .

But chose to order just a little early, to try & avoid that very problem ! Not only that, but tried to get some, with Awards, in the process...It may depend, upon, if those Iris rhizomes, were grown in the Netherlands & if so, then they just may arrive earlier than August..
It'll be a "live & learn" experience, to say the least, for the next "I Got A Box, 2019...

Today was our club's rhizome sale which is held outdoors. It was a hot day, which I think resulted in less foot traffic. Our sales were down about 15% from last year, which meant more rhizomes left at the end of the day. Not a box, but I came home with a bunch of new-to-me rhizomes:

If , I had read the webpage correctly I do believe one may get a "bag" of Iris, on August 10, at Fresno University, California.
No idea, how that page, was the first part of my search result, but it may be of "interest' to those, nearby. Or, used as chance to "meet up", with other Iris, lovers...Check to make certain, about details...as I was so exhausted, by the time I'd partly finished reading it, I had to go take a rest.

I'm just hoping, that Breck's sends me the correct "I Got a Box" contents, especially with rhizomes, expected to be included among them,; 'Sorbonne' & 'Sea Power', & a few others...Not even sure, what they list, now, since then...

I already received Blue J, Sutton, and Superstition; plus Breezeway is enroute (arriving Wednesday ), Iris Sisters is shipping this week, and Winterberry is probably headed this way the end of July or the first part of August. And I was only going to use my Sutton gift certificate! Then, Blue J was having a whale of a sale, I got another gift certificate, and also an AIS voucher and...hmm, maybe I should think about taking that pledge, too.
