My little seedlings are still alive and growing, at least 2 of them. The 3rd is the one that I tried to remove the seed jacket from and decided I was going to kill it. It still looks green and it almost looks like there is something trying to grow out the top of it. I'm thrilled to have 2 that look healthy though. I moved them inside where the rain couldn't get to them this past week and they finally have almost dried out.

Tarev, I think they are cute too. They look like little doll house trees.

Mike, I wonder if those 2 tiny green bumps on the broken one will become multiple stems? That would be wonderful. The new seeds are sitting on damp soil, hopefully they will sprout.

Here's an update on my seedlings. Some were planted in June (I think) and the others in July. I have a bud on one of the earlier ones, it is from Mike and was labeled Black Fire. Unfortunately, I think it got too hot on my roof. We've had weeks of temps in the 90's and even 100f. I should have repotted them sooner I'm thinking, the dirt was really hot and the roots may have cooked a bit. The leaves on the one with a bud are starting to turn yellow so I may lose the bloom. I've repotted them all now, and I hope the bud doesn't drop off. They are mostly looking pretty good though and I still hope to get a bloom in less than a year.

Be careful to just give sips of water. Too much and the bud will drop off.

There's a man in Afghanistan(of all places) that has an Adenium nursery, and his temps get to 130! His plants are fine.

The bud is still there but the leaves are not looking good.

I've got them all in larger pots now, this cool, overcast weather isn't helping though.

SPIDER MITES!!! Get out the poison, quick! Wet the undersides of the leaves, and stems thoroughly, and an hour later, rinse with fresh water, warm, not cold water. Sadly, the yellowed leaves will probably drop off. Maybe they will still bloom, tho', the survival of the species thing----

Oh no! I will go and spray them immediately. I didn't see anything but then, I didn't have my glasses on either.

I could be wrong, but they're almost invisible, and they do make leaves go yellow.

I've lost at least one of them, from rot. I pulled two others out of the soil and they are laying in the shade. No leaves but hopefully they will survive. The others are still green and seem to be OK. I'm kind of bummed but I haven't been able to really take care of them as I have workers here all day and for the next few weeks and my life and house are all topsy turvy. We are changing the indoor pond, scraping and painting all the walls downstairs and removing some tile on the upstairs terraces. I'm pretty busy managing the workers, the dogs, the cats, and the fish.

an update. I have a bloom on one of these seedlings. It is from Black Fire again. Unfortunately the first bud dropped when all the construction was going on back in the spring but this one has opened. It would seem that I've gotten a bloom within close to a year, it would have been earlier but... oh well.

Thank you Mike for the seeds, I'm more than thrilled and can't wait to see the others bloom.
