Wonderful seedlings everyone! I have been tipping my hat as I run through! I tip my hat to you.

What a talented group!

Tim, it looks like I can retire now because the Todd line looks to be in good hands....lolol..beautiful!

I will take a second to post a few seedlings this evening. This continues to be the yard of stripes and watermarks. It's either great focus, or a terrible rut...lol. Here are a few:

Here's a couple more seedlings from today:

Dawn of Aquarius (Hanson '10) x Christie's Big Heart (Owen '09)

At 2:00 pm -- At 6:20 pm

This difference is more of a camera/lightning thing. The colors look more like the later picture to the naked eye. At least to mine... not sure what it would look like to Ginny with her new bionic eyes. Anyway...

Sibling to the previous:

Stripes and dots... Steve, walking through your yard in July and August must be like touring the Wonka Factory. Some of those stripes are getting really clean!

Thanks Tim,

All are not pleasing to the eye, however. The neighbors, and Davi, and my wife are beginning to get concerned....lol.

Looks like vermicious knid damage, Mr Wonka. You might want to have the Oompa Loompas do some spraying.

I don't think you have a real problem until this starts looking like a good idea. It's one thing to have the Wonka garden in your yard, but a totally different thing to have the Little Shop of Horrors plant growing there.

Steve I love the stripes cp is passing on. I'd love to see it crossed with something like Boitzer Rain of Stars to add a little something something in the eyezone but those sepals are to die for. Are stripes and broken colors things you are going to continue to work on or was this just a fun project for you?

Hi Dan!

It's all fun, correct? At my age, it better be. Rolling on the floor laughing

I guess you could say I am working toward something, but that implies that I have some idea where I want to go. CLOWN PANTS, since it's maiden bloom, is leading this, not me. There are so many areas that CP explores, that it leads to some comical, scary results (See above post).

I am excited that it seems to pass on the striping easily. I am sometimes horrified that it can also pass along twisted, "unnatural" form. I am finding that the teeth of CP have not shown up yet in it's offspring, but I have not seen a cross bloom yet with is with another toothy daylily, or with one with a broken pattern, but maybe next year.

I have over 120 CLOWN PANTS pods out in the garden this year, and also have six pods actually on CP too, so the next few years should be entertaining to say the least....lol.

So far, Peter Donato has the best seedling from CP. I will check and see if he can post it here.

Steve

It inspired me to take CP to solid colors too, and near blacks. Lots to explore!

Thanks Peter for the image.

Steve,
Clown Pants is so amazing! The first time I saw it, I did a triple take. An absolute traffic-stopper, even when it's more like "evil clown" Pants.
Hurray!
