Hi Dan!
It's all fun, correct? At my age, it better be.
I guess you could say I am working toward something, but that implies that I have some idea where I want to go. CLOWN PANTS, since it's maiden bloom, is leading this, not me. There are so many areas that CP explores, that it leads to some comical, scary results (See above post).
I am excited that it seems to pass on the striping easily. I am sometimes horrified that it can also pass along twisted, "unnatural" form. I am finding that the teeth of CP have not shown up yet in it's offspring, but I have not seen a cross bloom yet with is with another toothy daylily, or with one with a broken pattern, but maybe next year.
I have over 120 CLOWN PANTS pods out in the garden this year, and also have six pods actually on CP too, so the next few years should be entertaining to say the least....lol.
So far, Peter Donato has the best seedling from CP. I will check and see if he can post it here.
