Got mine from Petco! They're tough, cheap, and aesthetically pleasing. I'm so glad I only went with a coco coir + peat moss mix, as the first thing he did was lick the new substrate! Glare Hilarious!
Maybe we should get a second opinion...

Thank you so much! I'm always really skeptical of anything I make, so to me it looks like a 5 year old tried making a sandcastle. Hilarious! I love my little guy! He's just the absolute sweetest animal. He's also an unusually large leopard gecko, so he makes everything look very small. In reality, he's just the size of a grown man's forearm!
Maybe we should get a second opinion...

My daughter has had, since she was about 7 years old (she's 24 now) at least 10 leopard geckos. The first one we had lived for about 7 years, and then it developed a brain tumor and we lost it. She went on to collect and nurture several more, and had a really cool one called an Eyelash Gecko. When she was getting close to graduation from college, she knew she was going to have to move into a very very small place, so she began finding homes for them all. But she is determined that when her girlfriend graduates next May, and they decide where they will go to live and work, she will have a huge menagerie!

I have an eyelash gecko, too! I also have a much more... chill leopard gecko. She doesn't do much, but I love her the same as the leo in the pics. My first gecko was an eyelash gecko I got when I was 18, and then I got my first leo Pardus a few months later, and my second leo Orchid not long after. I realized I love reptiles (and pretty much all animals), but that I needed to calm down because while I didn't go to college, I still didn't have enough money or time for more geckos. I would love to have a room dedicated just to my animals, but it is a dream and not a reality, sadly.

How NOT to choose a terrarium plant....because of the pretty pattern LOL. I should have known that planting an offset of this Anthurium bessaea x magnificum was not a good choice because the magnificum heritage would contribute to big leaves. But as usual I just could;t help myself. I have a feeling I am going to have to remove mine from the tank now that mama has hit leaves 10" long in the greenhouse and no signs of slowing up

Woah, those leaves are gorgeous! I'm a huge sucker for anything with big leaves that make a statement. I think I may run into a similar problem with that syngonium Maria I just planted. They apparently grow fast and can get huge. I'll try keeping mine in low light and also stay on my trimming game. I'm still waiting for my soilless soil, to finish drying. Glare One day I'll be able to plant the succulents...

I think the colored Sygoniums tend to grow a bit slower than the all green one. My pink one is just now starting to vine and I've had it since April last year. I had one like yours also and it didn't seem to grow all that fast either, even outdoors with sun and humidity. Sighing!

Great news for me! This syngonium Maria isn't quite pink, but it has pink in it. It's pretty much a copper color mixed with pink veins, if that makes sense. From what I can tell, Pardus loves the new plant and hill grade. I was fully expecting him to dig out the plant and move all the dirt last night, but he didn't move a thing! I've had houseplants with him before, and he always dug around in their pots. Since he didn't dig this one up, I guess you could say that Pardus is a fan of Maria. Hilarious! Hopefully the succulents will have the same luck when they go in! Crossing Fingers! I'm also thinking about adding some neon pothos in. I'm sure it would survive, but it may need too much water for his desert climate.

Oh, man. Has it managed to eat your dad's fish? I know, that this is terrible creature, but I have even thought, that it can be so huge (2 foot) OMG. I think, it would be better to kill it and don't give to anybody. Of course, it's your business, but I ask you to read the article about this creature - bobbit worm before you or your dad will give it to somebody. Maybe you will understand, that this worm is very harmful and you are the luck ones, that he hasn't managed to bring you harm or worse to kill all your fish. Additional, I recommend changing the aquarium, because he can be not alone. Hope all will be OK.

Confused Rihana, did you perhaps mean to post this information to another thread? This particular thread is talking about terrariums (plants) and vivariums (plants/animals), rather than fish. The Bristle Worm/Bottit Worm is a marine (salt water) worm and can definitely be a problem in marine aquariums.

yes I think Rihanna had the wrong thread here.
I got it from ETSY after someone posted a photo on another forum. I opted for the cheap one (the starter plant) not the $50 one LOL

Sometimes starting little is for the best. I impulse-bought so many aquarium plants this winter, and now they're all being murdered by different types of algae. Maybe if I hadn't jumped straight in with like 25 varieties of aquatic plants, I wouldn't have been feeling the pain I am right now. Hilarious!

The syngonium sort of reminds me of the philodendron 'Pink Princess'. I love that plant. Lovey dubby

wow, that's a very informative dialogue you had here! and funny too :D but really, it was very helpful, thanks! I'm amazed by the fact that people have turned the idea of aquarium as a home for fish into a terrarium as a home for reptiles! That's cool! I've recently bought myself a fish tank and had a long thought about what to put as a decor and came across this site about live rocks. They seem rather cool, don't you think? Does anyone else have them? that's the site, if anyone needs!

Planted aquariums can be quite lovely. I still have an empty one I have not done anything with yet LOL
