I would love to see Mike's living room lol. I guess the only option I would have would be to store them in a dark room once they go dormant. Most of my house is dark with the exception of the den, and kitchen and dining room

I know most of my seedlings that sprouted this year, I'll have to keep them actively growing this winter. Some of 9 month old seedlings still lost leaves even though I had them in front of a sunny window

During a "blue norther" I keep my car outside, so the truly tropicals can go in the garage. I also had no room for a Christmas tree as the living room was covered with plants. And kitchen counters were packed with cuttings and divisions just in case. I sometimes feel I'm running a tropical invalid home as I wheel the plants in and out for their constitutionals.

I looked at Florida Colors Nursery and almost wept with lusting after the 'Guadalupe Fernandez'.

Mike, get thee behind me Satan of Plumerias Rolling on the floor laughing If I even peek, I'll buy...and buy...and buy.

Guadelupe Fernandez is one of my top ten, and I have a lot of plumeria (that is an understatement)....Thumb of 2012-07-09/Dutchlady1/de77e3

Is it too late to order from Florida Colors with the heat now, or should I wait until next spring?

Not too late at all. And I suggest you call them, sometimes they don't get to their emails in a few days because they are so busy.

I wish I had a garage to put all of my tropical plants in. A few years ago I stored one of my bananas at my mom's friends garage. I'm glad plumerias don't require much care when they go dormant.

Hetty, I'll call them tomorrow. Thanks.

Cameron, no garage, and here I wished for a greenhouse. After Hurricane Ike, the city I live in got real nasty about new greenhouses and slapped so many codes that I couldn't afford one.

Hetty or Mike can tell you if this is okay or bad to do, but one avid gardener here digs up or unpots his plumerias, shakes the dirt off and hangs them in his garage. Do you have any ceiling hooks? Smiling

I wish I had a greenhouse too. I don't have any ceiling hooks but I could possibly install some.

Wow, thanks Mike. I just placed my order in the co-op section for the two Plumerias. Since I wanted the Scott Pratt grafted too, that will be ideal. If you tell me the total cost for the whole shebang, I'll PayPal you tonight or tomorrow after I hear from you. Thanks again, you enablers Hilarious!

I had a question about repotting. I have some 9 month old seedlings that are 4 inches tall and in 4 inch pots. I was wondering when I should transplant them into bigger pots and what size pot should I use? Thanks

Thanks Hetty and Michael. I was wondering why my seedlings were growing so slowly. I have some repotting to do tomorrow lol.
