My Colocasia gageana has some really pretty leaves, but part of the plant is reverting to all-green. Any suggestions? I should probably dig and separate the plain ones to let the variegated ones grow better, yes?

It was in the deep shade under my mango tree all summer, and that's when the non-variegated leaves started to turn up. It's getting some gentle morning sun now, and looking better but about half the stems are not variegated now.

Alocasia gageana, not colocasia.
I have actually never had a gageana revert. Macrorhizza albo-variegata reverts on me a LOT, but my gageanas have always been stable, whether yellow or white.
Trying more light cannot hurt.

Ooo..So pretty… it's really nice to see plants outside this time of year in your beautiful garden, especially showing so much leaf color & bright accents of foliage ,shapes and lovely content.

Here it's winter and it's so nice to see your gorgeous 🤩 garden. Lovey dubby

My garden is a bit muddy & bare now, as the cold snowy weather is due this week.

I need to take some pics in the next few days of the plants that didn't fit in the house. Most have been mostly OK so far but Tuesday night is supposed to be 18, so that will be the end of them.

When we bought this house it came with an enormous, never used snow blower. It has not snowed here for two years, I hope this year is not the one we might have to try the beast. It even has chains on the tires.

I do think fresh snow is so pretty, in pictures Whistling .

Alice, hopefully you don't get enough snow for a snow blower. I'd hire some young buck to do that job.

LOL, her head looks stretched in the photo, must be the angle. That plant is Ctenanthe lubbersiana 'Brazilian Snow'. One of those plants that said no lower than 55 degrees, have had it in the ground there since 2019, cold has never fazed it. Whistling

Brazilian Snow - another way to say Hot cold… names- something incongruent about that. But in general plants are always full of surprises. So glad the plant has held up so well in your beautiful garden. It is a stunner 👍.

Buffy is a stunner too‼️ Looks like a lil character.

AhHa, now I see it is not a ginger. I guess I was looking more closely at cute Buffy than the plant. Hilarious!

I don't remember if I posted variegated hypericums before. The variegated leaves sure are the high light in a deeply shaded garden also w/yellow flowers and red berries.
