There are a couple people in the database that own Nantahala Mankiller maybe you can ask them where they found it.
It is pretty.

Does anyone grow
Crazy Red One?
It's never been the "Daylily of the day" and there's little about it in the database. Usually that's not a good sign. It's one child is pretty. Wondering why it's not more popular, does it have a problem I'm not aware of?

It appears that the pod parent 'Dragon King' was very susceptible to rust. Don't know if that trait is passed along.

The picture of Crazy Red One on the AHS site is very pretty. I noticed that the parents are evergreen and sev, but Crazy Red One is listed as dormant. I don't think I have noticed before daylilies produce a child different from both of them.

I have grown Dragon King and it just sat there and dwindled and died after about 3 years.

I have ordered from Keast several times over the past 5 years and had good results. They send healthy plants -I have not lost any I got from them. Communication, ship date, packaging, identity ect was all fine. You should take recommendations from the Green Pages w a grain of salt, of course it all says nice things about companies because no negative comments are allowed, only recommendations.

I grew CRAZY RED ONE for 4 or 5 years and really enjoyed it. It is WAY taller than the registered 32".....more like 52" (!)...with thick, sturdy scapes. I ordered it because I had heard it was not registered correctly and was big and tall! And it was a dormant in my zone 7 garden. Flower looked exactly as shown in the AHS database. I had a few seedlings from it that I liked, but nothing distinctive enough to intro.

I've just put LIL' BLACK BUDS on my wish list. I would be happy to trade or purchase and I only want to acquire plants from places where rust does not overwinter. I can't find it listed for sale, but maybe someone here has some to trade.

Harmon Hill Farm in NH sells Lil' Black Buds. I don't think rust would overwinter there.
Life is better at the lake.

Looking for miniature daylily with 4 or more branches and 20 or more buds.
In Ohio so bud count and branching will probably be less here.
In particular looking for Ellison R daylilies.
Really like to find source for Little Grape Cutie
Thanks

Edgar, It looks like when Robert Ellison passed away in 2018, a memorial garden was set up at Hidden Timber Gardens

https://www.hiddentimbergarden...

I would contact them to see what they have available and if they have some fans of Little Grape Cutie and are willing to ship some to you.

Also, I'm going to guess these were developed here in north-central Illinois (less than 2 hours from me), so they were probably created in a very similar zone to you in Ohio.

Let us know if they can help you out. I'm curious if this helps you.

I introduced my first mini this year, Edgar. It fits the bill, but sadly, it is YELLOW. I hope this link works for you.

Pat,

Packrat, Djkonica, and Sonjamae on the LA have all sold Lil Black Buds within the last year. Maybe you can contact them via the LA to see if they can sell you one on reserve.

It's pretty expensive, but I did see it listed on this site's daylily list. This may or may not be connected to one of the sellers I just listed. Can't be sure.

I was looking at some plantstep catalogues and remember seeing Lil' Black Buds.

Peace on Earth Daylily Garden. That is in Georgia though. I also don't know what or if they have a rust problem.

@Frillylily
All I saw were German sources. I have not noticed any change in Google, nor any new format. Seems the same to me. Maybe someone will know of a source here in the US.
