Yesterday, Oct. 12, Royal Frosting and So Lovely bloomed. Voila Francois was beginning to open, but with today's storms and rain, and then much colder temps in store, I don't think it will make it, but will post if it does.

thx vickie and mike - that seedling is finish for 2014, the last flower opened one week ago.
it´s getting cold here- during night 44° F and day 55° F

but the end of last week i´ve got flowers from Elegant Candy (rebloom) and the first flower of Miss Me.

Stella is still reblooming and Sempervirens will open it´s last but soon - regular flower (not rebloom).

The cold weather does work on those blooms. Caesar's Head definitely does NOT like the cold weather around here. The rebloom scape sits still in time. Rolling on the floor laughing

I have 2 flowers blooming on a rebloom scape on Linda Beck but they won't fully open, not with weather in the 40's. I have never ever had a flower bloom this late.

Voila Fancois produced four blooms this month. I have photos of three of them, and how nice to have the last one be a Halloween treat for us.

This bloom hung up a bit, but did open, and considering how late it is in the year, it gets a thumbs up for effort. I cut it and put it in a vase in the house where we will be able to enjoy it for a few more hours.

That's still awesome, Cindy and Avedon, that you have blooms this late in October. We have some Stella's that are still blooming at work, but I don't have any blooming or even trying to rebloom here at my home just 20 miles away. Go figure!

Vickie thanks. I am planning on moving most of these Mums around the garden next spring to coordinate them with the Anemone for more fall color. Delphiniums are reblooming and looking great also. Going outside in a little while to asses the overnight temps in the twenties damage. We northerners like to hold on as much as we can.

I hope the damage was not too bad Mike.

I read the posts and marvel at the determination of northern hemisphere growers to keep their beloved plants in good condition through rain and sleet and snow. What a way to go. We are in late spring..think summer northern hemisphere folks, and it gets hotter as you get colder. Here are some bright colours to keep you warm during winter. Pardon the dog repelling fence in background.

Amazingly enough, Royal Frosting managed to put out one more bloom on November 12th. I would say it's aptly named since we had already had a couple of days with frost, and how this one hung on to bloom is definitely frosting for the end of the season. It is a small flower, but nonetheless, wonderful to us.
