I can't believe this didn't win. I thought it would be Best in Show as soon as I saw it. It's amusing and endearing and, best of all, unique. I don't remember ever seeing a similar photo, and considering my advanced age Green Grin! , it's a genuine surprise to see something unique. This photo evoked fond memories of Life Magazine's Miscellany page, which was always the first thing I would look at when the latest issue would arrive in the mail.

So very kind and generous of you to say such nice things Zuzu--Life Magazine's Miscellany page!
My new dog, Frye, and I are pleased to be a part of evoking fond memories of that Hilarious!
Trust me, I took many blurry photos of his "diving" practice and lucked out on this one. Fortunately, he didn't mind doing it over and over Sticking tongue out

I think that this was a unique and a happy photo of your dog!
I know how hard it was to get the water spray and the dogs expression
so playful and so perfect! Great job and give the dog a head rub

My new dog, Frye...

Your new dog?? YOUR NEW DOG???

On my birthday, he was my new dog...
When he goes to work on your shoes with his GinsuFaceâ„¢ he's verymuch my new dog ;).

But when he's in the best pic in the show, somehow he becomes... Green Grin! Green Grin! Green Grin!

I'm thinking now, I'm probably due a birthday present that's actually mine. Have my eye on this new lens... One that I'm sure won't fit on ANY of your cameras... Whistling Hilarious! Whistling Sticking tongue out

OUR new dog, Frye is pretty magnificent. Gorgeous creature. Here he is being all regal in the snow yesterday:
Thumb of 2019-12-09/evermorelawnless/077342

And here he is today. Absolutely loves the water. Archetypal Chesapeake Bay Retriever. And an especially handsome one at that.
Thumb of 2019-12-09/evermorelawnless/dfdb14

He's only eight months old and just at one hundred pounds. Supposedly, he's got another ten months before he's "full grown". He might have a little buffalo in him or something. And, really, the most important thing - he's a happy, sweet pup. Just a joy.
This is fun: The thread "Asa's former lawn...or (better) Dirt's current gardens" in Garden Photos forum

Now that's a pretty good picture.

Eight months old? He's barely a teenager! And 100 lbs? A lap dog per chance?

This picture should have been Best in Show!

I wonder if they picked a different winner since you won so many contests? Confused

In my estimation you (and Asa) are the best photographers consistently on the site!

JM, Evelyn, very nice of you to say, but I echo Dirt here. There are SO many shots I see and say to myself, "I wish I had seen that they way the photographer did. I wish I had the vision/skill to shoot that." I'm grateful for the site. I don't post all that much, really, but it's a reason to shoot - a venue in which to share. And a place to be inspired and learn.

Here's a shot from our walk today. Frye as icebreaker - no fear!
