How can anyone not like these pristine beauties of the lily garden? This is one of my favorites of the lilies. Not only are they gorgeous but they attract bees and butterflies too! A bonus in any garden!

This is a favorite Oriental in the lily garden next to Star Gazer and a few others. I can't say enough good things about this plant. The blooms are fragrant, large and beautiful. They are easily grown with little care and attention. These have graced my gardens for at least 15-20 years and I've never been disappointed. Some random photos help illustrate what I am saying. The first is the photo from which the banner was made.

Leon,
the prominent anthers & color contrast with the pure white petals on this bloom are really amazing.

Do you ever re-plant them or have they been in place the whole time?
Really nice display. Thumbs up

Hi Cal- Yes I have dug and replanted several times. Sometimes a local gardener/neighbor asks for a "start" of a couple bulbs and I always try to oblige. Then sometimes I see a spot that needs some color and I dig and replant a few. This is always done when the plants have gone completely dormant in late fall. Another point when replanting; I try to amend the planting site with a good addition of compost in well drained soil. I try to keep the plants shaded at ground level and sunny at the growing tips. Bulbs like cool soil conditions. Hope this helps.
